Yes, it's normal. It's cooler when the A/C is on.

Try turning the instrument backlighting down. I often drive with mine on the "2" brightness, so as not to be brighter than the road.

Might help. Or might be a placebo to keep you busy. You decide.

It's gonna be okay. I was "just" wondering if it was normal. I like my instrument cluster bright. It catches peoples attention.

I never used to turn mine down, until a couple years ago, I realized wow this is nice, the lights are not as bright as the road/outside and it's so much easier on the eyes. It wasn't as noticable with my old 6th gen Accord dash, but it really is noticable with the brighter guages/cluster by design of the TSX.

Just another sign of getting older(25?) I guess, lol

I was only suggesting that turning them down might effect the warmth.

Learned to do it a lot in my Jeep, and also flying Falcon jets ... at night, doing cockpit check and setup, I ensured I could read the gauges, but that they didn't mess up my night vision.

I spent hours trying to find out how to open my 1982 Accord instrument cluster, as it had a row of openings above the gauges, with a light bulb (or bulbs) behind it, shining down on the "face" of the thing, creating unneeded glare. If I turned it down to minimize it, the gauges weren't lit enough (backlighting was minimal or non-extant). Compared with that, my TSX gauges are excellent. Yes, they are eye-catching, and very very functional.

It's easy to do. Just keep looking at the road, and with your lower peripheral vision watch the gauges as you lower the brightness. At some point (which differs for city or country driving), they balance out. I think it will still impress the ladies.

p. 123 (2007 OM) ... BTW, it's hard (for me) to do this without tripping the windshield wiper arm. I have to come in from below and between the arm and instrument panel and bend my wrist in a rather effeminate manner. Awkward, but it works.

Most people learn this before retirement age, so I'm surprised a 92 yo doesn't know this.
