VSA = teh whip!
VSA = teh whip!
I usually baby my car. It's a lady-matic, I don't drive too fast and other than beating her up on some country roads when I go up north I generally don't see the VSA light go on. I actually think I got it on once before this weekend and that was on purpose.
Saturday night I was coming home from a party and I was going a little over 80 on I-94. There was another car behind me but other than that it was dead. I sort of looked down at my Ipod for a second and when I looked up there was some rocks and crap in the road so I freaked out and yanked the wheel and hit the brakes. The highway had just went down to two lanes and I didn't have a lot of room but I made it. I slid a little bit on the shoulder but the car behind me went in the ditch.
I parked on the shoulder to see if they were OK and they were. They got stuck in the grass and I really couldn't help them with that so I left. I was so glad that I have my TSX. My Cherokee would have flipped or went into the ditch or something.
I know I freaked out by yanking the wheel but I wasn't paying attention. It was crazy though! The car made all kinds of goofy noises and just didn't crash.
It turns out it wasn't rocks but cement from the highway that actually cracked from all the heat we have been having. That really doesn't matter though. All that matters is I didn't hit it.

Similar thing happened to me too. I was on 85 South and this consturction pickup truck had the bed door open and he swerved. When he did that, he had big chunks of dry cement fall out of his truck and onto the highway. Big chunks meaning larger than baseball sized chunks. I managed to punch my brakes since i saw it ahead of time. But if i was going 75mph and ran over one of those things or hit it, that wouldve caused some real damage. Or if i had rolled over it going 75mph, i probably would've lost control or busted a tire.
That truck should've at least had the truck bed door closed.
