Vote for TSX as 2004 R&T Readers' Choice Award!!

I thought this might already be here, but as I got my Road & Track today and the search wasn't useful, here we go:

Road & Track has a readers' choice poll going on now for "Best Car 2004". You may not think it's the best, but I assume most of you do. They also have a "Dream Car" selection that's separate area, so you can vote for an exotic w/o "hurting" the main car you want. This is first selection and they'll do a final selection from the ones that do well in the initial vote from the nominations, and of course the TSX was nominated.

You can vote for up to 5 "regular" cars and one dream car. I was the most taken by the TSX, so I didn't want to give other cars more points by selecting them. So, like the vote, that's up to you!!

Done and done. The problem I have with this is the TSX is the only car on that list I have been able to drive so far so how can I, the viewer, make an educated choice?

A good point, then you should vote for it...Remember people who bought a G35, etc. will be voting for it.

It is not that serious. Usually readers are the people that don't know shit.

I don't disagree, but I still think it's nice if people like the car (will ultimately help resale value). Journalists are quite biased too...I did a regression analysis on Motor Trends "soft" overall scores about 5 years ago and found that in fact Motor Trend has a domestic bias at least.

Yeah, as if the GT3 is a realistic car purchase. I'll give you the S4 and maybe the 5 (ugly as it may be), but CTS-V, and RX-8???

Hey if it's on the list, he can pick it. He's wrong, but that's another story.

Yeah, "it's legal," but defeats the purpose in my opinion.

This reminds me of responding to a sex survey. Should I tell it like it is, or should I say how I think it should be?

But seriously, there are cars on the list that few if any readers will have driven. I believe the release dates for the GTO and the Mazda3 are late this year.

True, true. However, they only entered cars that are supposed to be more realistic. I think anyone would agree that if you're interested in performance the 911 GT3 would be the way to go on that list.

I say put what ypu want people to see.

You could make up the information. I guess it's important to have some verification that people aren't voting 20 times.

Before Acura solve all those annoying rattles, I am not going to vote for TSX. Someone asked me just the other day how's the car? I answered him with a big thumbs up, but later on when he rode in my car, he noticed all the rattlings, he just gave me a big thumbs down and a pity face.

That sounds like a great letter to send Acura.

i dunno man; my TSX doesn't have any rattles; everyone in my car is jealous. I duno. I come from a family with some high line cars. Pops has a 330ci Sport, mom has a GS430; step dad has a Boxster-S, and I have a TSX; so i know what its like to have a quiet car. Hell my last car a 97 CL (as seen in avitar) bought brand new with 0.8 miles on it never had a rattle either... i guess its just on a car to car basis.

Well, I had gotten used to quiet cars. My last car drove me nuts. And this TSX too. I used to drive BMW 320i, MB S320, BMW 525i, Peugeot 406 and a number of other europeans, none of those had rattles this bad.

By FAR the worst rattling car I've had is a 2000 Z3. I'm not only talking the top.

Me too, but I did want to vote for the TL also. The reason I didn't vote for the TL was I want the TSX to win I can't be giving points to other cars.

The first round of voting is now closed. Be sure to come back on January 1 to see the five finalists and vote for your favorite!
So, it looks like Jan 1, but they might show us sooner.
