Thumbs up Vanity 3 LEDs Festoon are here!

I have been trying to figure out a way to get rid of the yellow vanity festoon, and finally it has arrived at autolumination.com for 8.00/each

I love them. I hope this will help some of you to complete your interior LED conversion.

Here are some pictures I took with factory festoon comparison.

Wow!!! That is a major improvement. I love them. What year is your car. I don't recall them being that yellow in mine...I guess I will have to go and take a look.

Again that is a drastic change.

Where did you get them from and do they get hotter than the reg lights? I assume they don't because they are LEDs. I changed my map lights in another car and the bulbs melted the plastice casue they got so hot! I think that looks great but let me know where you bought them!

Don't get the 9 LEDs one for the map or dome light, get these

They are way much brighter.

Here is the link to go straight there: http://autolumination.com/festoon.htm

With the new LED's, do they still fade in and out when you turn the car off? Or do they just come on at the full brightness???

Hey what's goin' on peoples...

I'm brand spankin' new to this forum and to the TSX world. I use to drive a 95 300zx TT and recently got rid of it. So now I drive a 06 Dark blue TSX.

I do miss riding out with the Z car club (www.sfzcc.com) but I still keep in touch.

So anyway...

I had a few questions about the LEDs and the term/vocabulary lol... The "map lights" is the lights above in the center that you have to push to turn on? or is that the Vanity lights? Also to replace those bulbs do you all know the size?

oh and btw, good find on the LEDs, they look great!

They are way much brighter.

Here is the link to go straight there: http://autolumination.com/festoon.htm

I just put these in (white, "6 LED Super High Flux" festoons).

Love the color, and they are insanely bright. When I open the doors, they light up the ground so much that they make my puddle lights (still stock) useless.

But...they are TOO bright! If you or your passenger turn one on to read something at night, you will be momentarily blinded until your eyes readjust. If your passenger is using his/her maplight while you're driving at night, you will get a ton of reflections on your windshield, plus your eyes will adapt to your superbright interior, making it even harder to see outside while your trying to drive.

I'm thinking that I should have gotten the 9 small LED, or the one big LED "SuperStar" festoons instead. But then, I think the 9 LED bulbs have the problem of never quite turning off? (My 6 LED "Super Flux" at least ARE completely off when they're supposed to be off.)

Also, I can confirm that the fade-in/fade-out function still works with these LED bulbs. However, not as nicely as it used to. The LEDs only seem capable of being at half brightness or more. Whereas the original bulbs faded from full brightness gradually to off and vice versa, the LEDs go from full brightness to half brightness then off within a second. Fade-in starts at half bright and goes to full brightness within a second, instead of gradual full off to full on.

Hey Ryan,

Which ones do you have in your doors, maps, and dome? Like which # LED, 6 or 9?

Does anyone else know anywhere that has these because the other 6 super bright LED's are a little pricey compared to other sites?

I have my old 168/192 6LEDs in the doors (got a long time ago from superbrightleds.com). Maps and dome are the large 9LED 3012 Festoons from this same place where I got the vanity lights.

AFAIK, these guys are the only ones carrying the vanity light 3LED bulbs. I think these guys are also the only ones carrying the 9LED map and dome bulbs too. I don't think Superbrightleds.com has this stuff. Its worth it here. Quality is top notch.

Do these actually work at night when you need them, or do they just look really cool?

They aren't as good, per the wife's feedback at dusk. They do work perfectly fine at night. The only issue your significant other would have is that the light is so white, that they'll start reapplying makeup. The regular bulb is more like natural light, but these are simply worth having if you'd done the LED conversion inside and out.

great...thanks...i was wondering..would these bulbs fit good without any problems? cause the 6LED's i bought from them for my map & dome lights didn't fit right...i had to trim some plastic piece off inside the light casing to get the bulb straight in there...

They are 31mm x 5mm, but autolumination.com lists them as: Vanity Mini 3 Led SMT Festoon
