Valve adjustment

My 04 TSX MT has 44,000 miles.

My mechanic recommends a valve adjustment.

How many of you have had this done and why.

What should this cost?

i have about 72K on my car and haven't done one yet...not sure if it's really necessary?

it is not necessary but the engine will be quieter if done. i had it done on my Accord several years back for $120. i don't know how much it is now.

I don't know about the K, but on my d-series civic. the valve adjustment was done to quiet the motor and if it was out of spec it would cause a performance/mpg difference.
