warning: this is one of my "stupid" venting posts

I have concluded that I am not letting Valet touch my car anymore.

FYI- I live about an hour from Chicago and down in the city you almost always have to valet since no parking. Well the first time I ever let valet touch my car they hit a cone and ran over it! It was ridiculous and then the second time it took them 20+ mins to get it back to me so who knows what joy ride they went on, but the real kicker is this past weekend....

Going to visit some friends who live downtown right next to a valet parking garage. Well my friends and I pull up and instantly 4 guys walking by come up to my car and “try to kick their game at us” ok while the valet guy is talking to me. It was unbelievable this one came right up to my door and was saying how “we looked good in my car” Losers.
So anyways at first the valet guy comes up to my car and says I can follow him up to park so I could park myself, well all of a sudden he changes his mind and says he has to park it. So now the valet guy is getting really annoyed cuz of these dudes saying shit, plus Im taking forever trying to find my valet key now (and ignore these guys), then I have to lock the glove box, get our purses in the trunk, lock up the trunk latch and everything. So I ask him again if I could just park my own car in the lot and then give him my key since he was going to let me. He refused. And I asked him nicely again because I don’t like people driving my car. And then the dude hitting on me starts yelling at the valet guy about how I don’t want him touching my car and I should be able to drive it. Well all of a sudden the valet guy snaps and gives me my keys back and refuses to park my car saying that “I am acting like my car is a Ferrari!”

What an A**hole! I was pissed! Im like "FINE! you will never have a car like this and I don’t want you driving my F*ing car anyways." What a jerk off, I mean yes its not a Ferrari but fuck I have a put a lot of money and time into my car and I don’t want just anyone driving it (and at first he said I could park it myself and then he changed his mind) and plus that Ferrari comment was a low blow. Seeing how a valet parker will probably never have an Acura anyways.

He pulled Bitchy Stephy out and I am trying not to be a bourgeois bitch but that was uncalled for.

Sorry for the stupid post but after all that shit and then tsxondubs story I dont think Valet will be touching my baby anymore!

I pray for the rest of you!

I ended up finding a park your own car garage (Like they should be!) a block down and go figure, when my friends and I got out and were walking those 4 guys ran up to us!!!!!

The valet boys must look at themselves in the mirror each day in their polyester red vests and shiny black pants thinking "Man, I am HOT". Look at how I can squeeze this car into the tightest parking spot. You know what they say about tight parking spots!!!

Hey, dont be dissing the amount of money a valet makes. Some of them pull in serious money. All depends on the kind of place the valet is. Imagine the amount of money a valet makes working a country club.

 

That's exactly the reason why we can abuse them. They make whatever they make moving a freaking car back and forth. If in fact they make a lot of money...I need to change my profession.

 

I know a few valet parking guys (who are actually nice guys, not the arseholes you guys are talking about here). They work for a casino in Hull, Quebec.

Two of them drive new M3's and the other drives a 911 Turbo.

All three make over $90K/year IN TIPS (read: tax free), and still get about $35K in wages.

It's sick... absolutely disgusting.

And yeah if I wanted to change professions it'd be to a valet driver, simply for the cash. Then again I don't ever want to work nights again.

Ummm, sounds like he did the right thing to me He's responsible for all the cars on the lot. Having you park your own car and potentially hitting another car gets him in serious shit so why should he risk his job for you? You probly pissed him off (much like you piss many of us off around here ) so he snapped.

Don't want a valet parking your car? then don't go to valet parking.

First of all, I dont know too many parking garages where its a freakin valet service! Do you? I pulled up to a parking garage, thinking it was like any other normal parking garage (park yourself) and all of a sudden its not. And as I mentioned before, the guy initially told me I could follow him behind some other car and park it myself and then he changed his mind. Thats when I got pissed and then all of a sudden at that moment I had to look for my valet key and get everything in the glove box and trunk and he starts rushing me!

I dont really care if I piss you guys off I find it rather amusing that some of you are so high strung and dont have a sense of humor

Oh and if I am paying about $20 for a starting rate of just 15 minutes to park in a stupid lot and I have well over $1000 of just stereo equipment in my car, I am taking my sweet ass time to make sure my shit is as secure as it could possibly be.

 

I avoid valet parking at all cost..........

Could you not have backed out once you saw it was valet? I'm sure you weren't held at gun point. Then again its downtown Chicago.......

Anyway here's probly what happened. Guy sees a pretty girl (maybe, how the hell do we know) drive up and as usually his dick does the talking for him telling you that you could park your own car.

Then one of two things happens.
- He's sees your not that hot.
or
- He realizes he has no chance.

So, he decides to think with the right head and not let you park your own car. Either way, he is responsible so he did the right thing. Stop your bitching.

Anyway I hoped you've learned your lesson and never use valet again or learn to respect and treat valets like the human beings they are.

If I had the money I wouldn’t buy a Ferrari. I would get a Saleen S7 or a Carrera GT
