USB input for First Gen TSX

Does anyone know of any usb units that can plug into the back of the stock head unit to provide the same functionality as the second gen tsx? The existing aux. headphone jack is nice, but I would really like the ability to just use a flashdrive rather than having to disconnect my ipod everytime I leave the car. Also, being able to show the file/song name on the radio screen would be nice for the usb unit.

The only problem I see with this unit is that it looks like you can only create six directories/folders in which to store music. I want the ability to navigate a folder structure. Also, does anyone have a writeup of how to remove the center console/cd holder compartment below the radio to get at the back of the head unit. I remember someone posting a tutorial, but have not been able to find it. Other than the problems I mentioned, this is exactly what I'm looking for. Does anyone have one of these and if so what are our experiences with it?

You can just pull out the storage pocket - no tools required. There is a little harness on the top powering the light for the storage pocket.

There are going to be some limitations with this, since you are emulating a CD changer.

Scroll to the bottom of the thread on the below link. I took some pictures a while back of the center cubby and console removal:
https://acurazine.com/forums/1g-tsx-2004-2008-124/how-remove-center-console-710877/

see lcrazyaznl's videos too on how to remove cubby, hazard light, etc.

If you need to get the head unit completely off, you have to unscrew 7 bolts/screws:

There are 2 bolts in the ceiling of the cubby hole (after taking the cubby out).

There is one screw behind the hazard button.

The other 4 are behind the silver (or wood) trim on the side of the HVAC. You have to take the trim off, and the bolts will be in the side where I'm pointing in the below pic:

The trim can be harder to get back on than it is to get off.

Unfortunately, the iSimple only provides the dock connector for an ipod. I'm looking for the usb connection to plug in either an ipod or a flashdrive. I found one sold under the accessories for the honda fit and was wondering if anyone had attempted to use this in the tsx.
