So a lady hit our '08 TSX while backing out of her parking spot as we drove by. I was in the rear passenger seat and saw her backing her '08 Accord out without riding on her brakes, and BAM hit our rear passenger door and shook the whole car. Long story short, she didn't want to share her driver's license/insurance info with us so we called the cops. Turns out that her insurance has expired, so the cop citied her and took her plate away.

Here are some photos taken with a camera phone. It's an '08 TSX bought in '07 with 21,xxx miles, barely driven and not a scratch on the car. Photos doesn't show the damages well, but the rear driver's door is pushed inwards near the hinges and the top of the door slightly bends outwards. Front driver's door has some scrapes as well.

 

Sorry to hear about the accident. It sounded like it was just bad timing with an unskilled driver of the Honda. The Accord driver should of paid the insurance instead of going shopping with the $$.

Are you going to sue the Accord driver to pay 100% for the repairs?

 

It's my parents' decision and I am unsure of what they are deciding at this point. We will see what our options are from the insurance company, but for now we will get estimates for the damage. Seems like the door is bent because the rubber seal on top of the door doesn't create a tight seal on the paint of the body anymore. So I guess the door needs to be replace. Anyone wants to take a guess at how much this is going to cost?

 

That stuff is hard to gauge. The door doesn't look too bad.

Its hard to tell from the pics if a body shop can buff out the scratch or pull out the dent. Having to repaint will add to the cost. Maybe the hinges too the damage and not the normal shape of the door.

 

We won't get estimates until Monday, but there's definitely a gap between the rubber seal above the chrome trim of the door. I'd like to keep the door to just because it's original and to avoid re-tinting.
