Update Navigation DVD
Update Navigation DVD
I bought a used 2004 TSX. The navigation system is simply horrible. I use Garman navigation systems in my company vehicle and I guess I got used to its accuracy.
I'm guessing the system has never been updated. Any ideas on how to obtain an update DVD rather then playing a ridiculous $200 through the Acura website.
I'm very disappointed at this time. The manufacturer warranty was up in January. I just bought the car 2 months ago. The navigation system sucks to the point it is basically useless and the disc changer no longer reads any cds.
Has anyone found a place to purchase these DVDs or are we stuck going through Acura.

Or you can buy the DVD disk online thru Alpine (I think the maker of Nav for 04 TSX) about $150 (tax and/or s/h extra). Your 04 is the 1st TSX for this model so yes you need to buy the new disk if you want all the updates.
Don't know what Nav system you use in your company car (if it's portable or comes standard with the car), but I'm used to bigger screen system. It feels much better than small ones.

I'm probably just going to go with the Acura site. I don't know if I really trust ebay although I've seen a handful on there. I'm going to check Alpine and see if I can get it thru them.
Thanks for the input.

Funny, the 2004 Navigation unit was top rated upon the release of the car.
As for updates, I was looking through a bunch of threads to help update a buddy's TL and noticed that you rarely find the latest version of the DVD b/c most people have them in their cars. You can't easily copy certain versions due to the copy method not storing data files in the correct order. Ordering from Alpine (who is where you will order from if you go to Acura anyway) is your best bet.
