Two simple questions...

1. Is there any way to automatically turn off the auto-dimming rear view mirror? Windows are tinted and dont really need any extra dimming..I always end up turning it off manually.

2. Call me crazy but I haven't found a place to hang the gas cap while getting gas. There is no hook or anything that it ends up dangling or I wrap it around the hose...??

thanks!

1) As far as I know there is just that power button you push. I have an Broadway View mirror, one of those wideangle view rearviews. I agree though, with tint that auto dimming feature is killer lol.

2) For my car there is a little cut in the fuel door where the little ball off the cap tie sits into it so it doesn't dangle onto the car. I'd imagine it's a normal feature.

Try a very small piece of black electrical tape on the rear "eye" of the mirror (the one facing the back of the car). That will fool the mirror into thinking there are never headlights behind the car and thus it'll never dim.

Ditto on the gas cap -- there's a little plastic pigtail with a ball on the end that goes into a little slit on the fuel filler door.

1) As sortudo7 said, there's an on/off switch. I'm not sure if you have to disable it everytime you start the car or not, but if you do, just unplug the mirror. If I'm not mistaken, it's a simple plug.

2) It's a V in the fuel door. You hang it by that little ball attatched to the cap in the V.

Yea, there is a harness connector on the back of the mirror. I just looked. The harness will hang though, and I don't know how tacky that would look.

To get crazy, you could tap in inline switch into that mirror wire to turn it on 'auto' and 'never' modes. Haha, but that would be crazy, but not a bad idea.
