TSX Xenons and theft.

TSX Xenons and theft.
I did a search for stolen/steal/xenon/theft but couldn't find anything.
Are the lights on the TSX a target for theft as for example the Maxima. Are they the perfect fitment used in other popular vehicles? The salesman at the dealership said the TSX lights have a high target rate but we all know salesmen in general talk out of their asses.
If they are stolen much, any steps I can take to stop them? I heard a story where this guy put razor blades around his light housing and one night he came back to his car and found blood on the ground and on the bumper.

I guess the theft rate would be there if the TSX uses a standard sized bulb.
However, putting razor blades near headlights to hurt thieves would be considered mantrapping, which is illegal in all 50 states.

Whoever put razors around there car must not be a TSX owner. That dude must drive a Monte Carlo....
Who would possibly want blood on their brand new car??
Wouldn't that come back around on you someday??

I don't see why anyone would want to steal them. The Maxima is a totally different story. The 2002+ lights fit EXACTLY right into the 2000-2001 maxima ( I believe), and they're easy to steal. My uncle got his stolen and he said they did a hell of a nice job too. They placed all the wires and everything neatly back into the car.
No reason to steal the TSX lights.

if it makes u feel any better, our car's have an alarm on it. If you pop the hood without disarming the car, the car will start flashing and honking like mad.
BTW, a long time ago, some jackass stole my battery and spark plugs out of my 88 accord cause he gave up on the stereo. But it didn't have an alarm on it.

I don't know about the TSX but it is a concern of mine as well.

2) Nobody. But if someone wants to steal your whatever, would you rather to have blood on your car or lose your car parts?
3) Why would it come back to him if he is a decent person who does not steal?

I recall reading an article about HID light thefts in the state of CA. Mentioned was the Acura TL.
The article mentioned an owner driving his car home from work and it was getting dark. He flipped the light switch on his TL and the dash lit up. Got pulled over by a cycle cop for driving without headlights. The officer said he didn't have any headlights! The owner looked at the front of his car to find two empty holes. The headlight assemblies were gone. The article went on to mention that HID lights were stolen and modified for custom installs on other import cars.
I would wonder how theives would steal the entire headlight assembly without breaking into the car. The article said that the thieves would jump hard on the bumper breaking the bottom mounts of the headlights making them easy to pull out and disconnect.
Hope the TSX has a different headlight mounting design than the current TL.

my gf had her passenger airbag PROFESSIONALLY REMOVED from our carport at about 3am one night. whoever did it clearly did it for a living. but we took it to get fixed and it turned out that the guy didn't actually get the airbag out... so I'm guessing either someone scared him off or he realized who I was and ran away in fear.

This was and still is a big concern for me and thats why i installed an aftermarkey alarm.
My cuzin had his HIDs stolen from his Acura(Cl i believe) while he was eating dinner in broad daylight in the parking lot.
Apparently to a professional that knows what they are doing its a fairly easy theft.
I also know where and from whome to get stolen HIDS from for the average of 150-200.
All Kinds.

TL/CL HID theft is common. It's been in the news, the newspapers, Car and Driver, it's as easy as the Maxima. I've seen 2 Accords with TL lights on them. It really is big in the NorthEast. I remember on guy on the TL forum saying he went to the dealer and 11 TLs had headlights stolen in the shop.
I hope they do better with the 2004 TL. I think since the TSX is made overseas, that the HIDs are attached much more solid and should eliminate theft. THe TSX seems to be very solid, built to European car standards.

For example, I heard a story just yesterday of a car full of people who pulled into a parking spot at lunch, and the rear left passenger dinged the car next to it when opening his door. Turns out the driver was in that next car over but nobody from the offending car said anything. When they got back from lunch, their car had been keyed. In that case it was the driver who was screwed even though it was his passenger who dinged the car next to theirs.

How is this professional? And how was it removed and still in place.
Confused.

all the pieces were popped out neatly and the screws were all grouped according to size inside seperate pieces of plastic. the airbag was actually removed from its housing... but for some reason was left inside the car. disconnected... everything... but left. and since the guy left absolutely zero damage... our Honda guy was able to replace everything perfectly as if nothing had happened. only damage was a broken rear "little" window.
