TSX vs. Legacy GT

Now I was dead set on a tsx but my friend got me interested in the new legacy and now I'm really torn between the two. Here's the pic that got me interested:

i'm guessing i'd be giving up interior goodies for performance. anybody got real time experience with both?

um, if you want that car... don't get a legacy gt. import a legacy sti, cause your car wont look like that... unless you drop $5000 on it, it does look good though! I'd take a TSX modified or unmodified though.

More like $10k. With all the paint, labor, and custom ordering of parts from Japan, it's gonna be an expensive ass car. And that's before the performance mods.

Test drove both about a month ago. Wasnt really sure since were both great rides.
If you want manual transmission, hard to go with subaru since TSX 6MT makes you wet. I test drove the TSX and was impressed by everything, including the handling. The legacy GT was pure power and felt solid and had good handling too.
After driving both, I was not sure between the two, however the slightly higher price of the GT limited (compared leather and sunroof in both cases) turned me away from the legacy. The TSX interior was more impressive but didn't affect much of my decision.
Waited a week and went back to see both with a good friend. He was real impressed by the GT, but he said wohhh when we went to see the TSX. That opened my eyes. The TSX looks better, richer and is a younger look.
Nothing against the legacy GT, especially considering I had a 1999 legacy GT limited for 6 years, but I ended up choosing the TSX. The Legacy is great, and I would be very happy if I would have chosen it. In the end, all the above and ESPECIALLY the fact that subaru's are very expensive to maintain (trust me, I know), made me get the TSX. Luckily subaru's are reliable but when they break, they are expensive (Payed $750 US to fix oil leak).
By the way, the GT consumes considerably more fuel.

Could have said much more but I hope this helps
Was a hard decision

Ask this question at A-CL or TL and everybody comes back with Legacy If your hooked on power the TSX is simply not for you, that I'm convinced of. Either that or most people are just too hung up with numbers.

I use to be one of those people until the TSX showed me the light.

The LGT has a much larger fan club at A-CL then here.

One the one hand, that makes sense, since both of those cars give up handling but gain power on the TSX. OTOH, the Legacy gives up luxury to all three, but I've noticed these boards to be lacking "typical" luxury car buyers anyway on the whole.

They are all a little sensitive I think. If I woke up one day to find I paid 30k for a 15k car with a turbo slapped on it I would be too.

maybe they share the fact that neither knows about sportiness? I was floored when I found that almost all the CL (and prev gen TL) only came in Auto!

Of course all the users here who switched from a CL to a TSX say they enjoy the TSX more (even though they do miss a lil extra power)

p.s. can someone quote me and put a "lame" emoticon underneath the quote? That'd be so cool!
