TSX test drive on Canadian Driver

Here is what the editors at Canadian Driver feel about the TSX and how it drove.

http://www.canadiandriver.com/articles/hl/04tsx.htm

Overall Evaluation of the TSX:

The TSX is a formidable competitor at the sporty end of the near-luxury segment. Its price qualifies as a bargain against pricier European models. It’s well built and fun to drive, but the trade-off is less power and prestige than the more storied marques can offer.

Enjoy and Discuss!

OK well, fairly typical review. Some minor nits to pick:

- "happens to bear a striking resemblance to that lean Accord that’s sold on the other side of the pond"
Uh, OK. Kind of a lame observation, why not state it's the same car with some tweaks?

- " And don’t expect any wood trim - this Acura is too cool for that"
Oops. He should have looked at some of the other colour schemes.

- "4yr/80,000km warranty"
Not sure where that came from. B2B is 3yr/60K, powertrain 5yr/100K.

Overall, this review hits most of the bases. Missed the fact that on the ergo front, the steering wheel blocking the turn signal indicators (which are barely audible to boot) is a not so insignificant faux pas and very much out of character with the rest of the interior.

Good observation about 6th being too short, many others think so too (Maybe the writer read about it here? ).

The article does mention that "its price qualifies as a bargain against pricier European models", but doesn't really drive home the point that in comparison to the other cars/prices listed, only 2 (Accord, Mazda6) can be realistically be had with similar features for around the same price.

And before gilboman jumps on me, the 320i listed in the article only has 168hp and will NOT out-perform the TSX.

That's the US warranty, which compensates for all the secret features our Cdn TSX has.
