TSX Steering Wheel Swap?

After test driving a few TSXs I hate the steering wheel. It's just so thin and kinda big. What kind of wheels do people swap out their TSX wheels for? I love my S2000 steering wheel. Anyone ever swapped one into a TSX?

The 06-07 is more refined, but they're relatively the same except for a few things. I think he wants smaller smaller like S2K smaller. I have to agree. The feel on a S2K steering wheels is very nice, but I doubt itll look right in a TSX. I think the one in the TSX is perfect, might want it a LITTLE bit smaller, but not S2K smaller.

I agree 06-07 steering wheel is great. I drove in a 05 loaner and I couldn't stand the wheel.

Yeah it may look out of place, I was kinda hoping someone had a picture. I drove an 05 Automatic and an 07 6speed.

the 04/05s have a slightly different steering wheel than the 06/07s. The later ones are thicker and feature 'bumps' at the 10 and 2 driving positions for extra meat to grab onto. Occasionally 04/05 owners swap for the later one, but I've never had a problem or thought to change out my 06 steering wheel.

I wish the my '04 wheel was thicker and a smaller diameter too.

But two aesthetic elements of the newer 06/07 wheel bug me: 1) The black audio/cruise buttons contrast and stand out too much, and 2) The odd V-shaped ridge in the middle. Seems ugly and pointless to me.

Here's an alternative for us early-adopters.

I'd like to have the steering wheel re-wrapped and in better leather. I'd also have extra extra padding put in but ONLY on the inner portion of the wheel. That way, it could get meatier without increasing the wheel circumference.

Whaddya think?

…and does anybody know of a high-end custom car interior shop in South Florida?

Just so you know, on the 06+ wheel the extra padding at 10 and 2 is only on the interior, not adding to the total circumference.

one of mods here measured the thickness, 06-07 is only 1 mm thicker than 04-05 with extra padding..

I swapped in the accord euro r steering wheel and it wasnt really that hard. you should not have a problem doing the s2000 steering wheel swap but you will lose the audio controls and cruise control. the cruise control for the tsx is completely different.

Very, very nice! I had no idea that they had a Momo wheel for the Euro R.

I've grown very attached to the stereo controls (I think I've only used the cruise control once, just to see how it worked), so I ordered a Wheelskins cover (with the perforations) for christmas. Nowhere near as nice as yours, but I hope it'll beef it up a bit and be less slippery.

I ordered my new TSX with the Silver Steering wheel. Curious if anyone else has or has seen it and what the opinions about it are.

Silver steering wheel, picture stolen from AamirCWITR's car.

No reinforcements at 10 and 2, and it is likely the 1mm thinner wheel based on the 04/05 wheel. Looks sharp tho.

Yeah I think I could live without some controls but are any nav controls on the wheel? Or is that just for 06?
