Gfx.......I'm jealous of you right now. Please let us know if any rattles come up or not. That seems to be the major factor flaw so far on the TSX. I'm kinda waiting till summer to sell my RSX and make the move up to more luxury and room. Best of luck.....Great color!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So far the only rattles have been some slight vibration in the door when the door speaker is trying to put out too much bass.

I've wondered...could the rattles be a result of improper trim replacement during vehicle prep? I mean, when my TSX came most of the interior was wrapped in plastic so I imagine they had to take certain parts of the interior apart to remove the plastic. Could the rattles be a result of the technicians not putting the trim pieces back properly?

This past week my TSX was in the shop for a SRS controller replacement. Before that it had developed a snap-snap sound around the passenger door/widnshield area. Since they had to remove most of the center console area to get to the SRS controller since then i have not heard the snap-snap sound. *shrug*

oh, BTW...welcome dave!

Welcome!

I took delivery of a CG/Eb/6MT four weeks ago. 1700 miles later, thankfully, no rattles. My baby is an absolute dream!

It's early, but no rattles, no tranny problems, nothing. Hope you have the same experience...

Congrats on your purchase, Dave.

What's the build number nowadays? Somewhere in the 22xxx range?

I've seen VIN#s (on lots) in the 24,xxx range. Part of me wouldn't be too surprised if they scratch 30,000 by the end of the model year...

Like it or not, this car is catching on...

Looks like my car sat awhile before it got an owner..

JH4CL95894C021729

So i'm assuming that means I have the 21,729th TSX made for the 2004 model year, no?

Correct. They far exceeded their planned amount of production, and I'm quite pissed because of that. I used to see maybe, one or two tsx's a month, now I see at least 5 in conventional areas, and at least 2 in highways, so I see at least 2 each day. I mean, it's great that people are driving the TSX, but it'll soon become roaches. Too many, too many.

Yeah but at least its not like driving an accord where parking at the mall is a daunting task because finding your car is a pain since there will probably be 4 other accords with the same color heheh

It is catching on....I saw a brand new SSM TSX automatic with #25021 in its VIN yesterday when I went to pick up my car from service.

My TSX is still one of the originals from last April.

Congratulations!

I suppose the rapid population of the earth with TSXs was inevitable. I see more of them than I do Mazda6's, and I don't even live in Toronto.

Welcome!

Post some pics of your new beauty. I was set on getting a SSM, but the more I see CG, the more I like it.

Also, do you mind telling us what dealer in Chicago you purchased it from, and if you really want to be open..how much you paid?
I only ask because I'm gonna be buying one in the next month.

its not a good idea to post the VIN# on a public internet forum

I can understand from a paranoid point of view but really, whats the issue? People can run a history check on my vin and thats about it. If there is something I dont know let me know so I can request it being removed from this post

Smile I'm a newbie too

Hey everyone! I bought my car back on 12/13 but didn't even think there would be a TSX forum online...duh! Found you all by accident as I was Googling for touch up paint (yeah, a couple of small paint chips already that show up pretty damned well on CG... hurts so bad ). I've been reading up the past couple of days and loving it. SO glad to find others who understand my love for this car. And thanks for explaining the mystery of a VIN. Never knew what all those letters and numbers meant. Looking forward to reading and posting!
Josie

p.s. 2300k and so far, no rattles or other probs... knock on wood!
