TSX new or used

Hi all. I am goingto buy a TSX but while doing some searching, I found a used TSX.

NEW: 2005 TSX w/o Navi AT for $27,000 out the door
OLD: 2004 TSX w/ Navi AT for $25,000 out the door (30,000 miles)

What you guys think?
Also, what you guys hink of $27,000 OTD price?
Thanks.

The price on the 05 is very good - sounds almost too good. The price on the 04 is OK but not great.

oops, I thought the first price was with navi - I knew something wasn't right about that. 25.5K is about right before all the fees.

What's the KBB on the used? That's pretty high mileage. How clean is it? Any cool aftermarket stuff? Did you negotiate that price or is that just what he's asking? If that's asking price, then you could probably push him much lower. The Navi is nice and what's 30k on an Honda/Acura?

Negotiate hard for the used, in my research dealers pay about 18-19K for used cars, you shouldn't be paying more than $21,500 w/o TTL.

When comparing a current year model with the previous years model, I generally look for at least 15 cents a mile depreciation; 30,000 * .15 = $4,500.00 USD.

A dealer will generally have a markup ranging from $4,500.00 to $7,000.00 on a used car in the 30K price range. Therefore, finding an individual that wants to sell, rather than trade, makes for a much better deal.

The prices of used '04 models are just not that much less than the price of a new '05 model. I would prefer to pay the difference and get a car that I know has not been abused. If I were on a tight budget, I would be considering cars that are 3-4 years old with around 50K miles rather than a car that is only one year old.

I would purchase new because of the traditionaly high resale value of Acuras'. Your specific example is a case in point - 30,000 miles and they only offer a 7 or 8% discount? For get the '04.
