TSX HP.. too weak?

I would like your opinions...
Do you think that the TSX should come stock with more HP? IMO i think that its a little to weak... but great handling... I raced my friends Xterra S/C... damn that SUV is fast... But the only reason I beat him was because of 2 sharp turns... On the straightaway I noticed that my car was struggling... I'm really thinking about that Turbocharger... money is always an issue on these forums....

Well theres not really any real mods for the TSX to make it fast, Funny u raced a Xterra S/C,,,, Thats what I almost got before the TSX, prob would of been fun, but I am happy to be on the ground rather then off it, yeah that is a fast truck

the TSX needs more Horsepower, and ESP TORQUE... Its no secret, We dont have a fast car, its not a sports car as much as I or anyone else want it to be, Its the European Honda Accord, Its a great car, pritty much Reliable (problems here and there but short of my experence I havent heard of anyone else having any Major problems) Because of the Euro Tuned Suspension it handles like a BMW, its a Great Car, Some More Horsepower would be great, but Acura dosent seem to be doing it...and for now we just gotta keep our for Hondata to Finally Put out the Application for the TSX, and hope that solves our problem untill that turbo or Supercharger Finally Comes out

True the car is rather heavy and its lagging in the Hp and Tqe department.
But be patient, there are some whiz inthis forum that's trying to make some turbocharger for TSX. I can't wait. A gain of 50-75 hp and more torque..... I don't mid spending money for it. Its a nice little car.....

Don't people test drive cars anymore before they buy them?

Could the TSX use a few more hp? Sure, but according to most buyers of cars, so could practically every car on the market.

Does the TSX really NEED more hp? Nope. It has more than adequate horsepower for its purpose of getting from point A to point B with a nice driving experience on the way.

If you want more horsepower out of your Acura sedan, buy a TL.

I don't think the TSX needs more horsepower, it fits exactly in the market segment it was intended for. The TSX has many other worthy attributes. It doesn't need gobs of power.

I come from a Civic forum. On there people want the RSX-S 200~210hp engine. On here, people want a stronger engine. As someone said, purchasing any car.. it seems like people want what they don't have.

hmm i guess i can definaetly see where the hp and mainly torque would help. but i mean the car wasnt made for that. its a cruising luxury car.
but i think a supercharger would add that extra umph that the car needs, and hopefully still keep that nice crusiing ability. but like the resonator removal, and assuming the CAI application has the same results, the car sounds normal driving around normally, feels nice n smooth. but soon as u put ure foot to the floor you hear the roar and feel the engine break loose. and i think thats definatly how this car needs to be modified, tuned and whatever else you could possibly do
so for me, i will be reading all of your responses to the new s/c and whatever else comes out, hondata n what not. and from there ill make my decision.
and in that sense, i am very greatful to have such a great wealth of information at my fingertips

when purchasing the car, most buyers arent expecting to be blown away by the speed.

Well, I just came from a 260hp CL Type S to a 200hp TSX. The power withdrawl is there, but I can live with it since it handles so much better.

I came from a 95 Corolla(105hp) and 92 Accord(130hp). TSX's hp is more than enough to me.

I don't really give a damn of the current HP war.

Sorry lol I Honestly think i was born a couple of decades to late... ah to of been 18 durring the american HP Wars

HEMI CUDA, GTO, SHELBY MUSTANG, CORVETTE STINGRAY, CHARGER, GRAND NATIONALS, 442's, SUPERBEE,CHEVELLE god damn, even the Family car was pushing 300 to the wheels at that point

Once again, The TSX isnt a sports car, nor does it pretend to be...I would like more Horsepower, but theres no reason for it... U want a sports car, buy one next like I'm planning on, Can the TSX be modded to resemble a sports car, Sure....But its a Euro Spec Honda Accord w. a nice interior, thats it.... (thats not ment in a Degrading way)

so speakin of more torque... how do we boost more torque (Down low) into our cars? Turbo?

And even if we do boost da torque up, can our transmission / FWD handle the car so its drivable?

I got a accord coupe V6, but hey its still a honda, we kno whut they all need :P

If the TSX gets more Hp it will get more horrible GAS MILEAGE!!!

TSX is horrible on gas for a 4 cyclinder...Why? Because of its high hp rating???
At Acura.com the TSX basically gets the same MPG as my V6 Accord....but my Accord can do that on regular gas. The TSX needs preimum to get the 200hp my V6 does.

Sigh....I wish the TSX got better mileage.....

I wish they offered a 180hp model thats better on gas...I would take that one.

Isn't the Tsx said to be heavy as hell already, i remeber seeing it around 3000lbs, so thats a factor of comfort more then speed.

Honestly if the tsx has more speed to it woudn't the car be completely differnt then its orginal purpose as an revamped model of the accord.

I came from an Audi TT roadster, which was pretty quick but not remarkably so. The members of that forum also frequently addressed the issue of "more horsepower." The TSX, while not as fast as the TT, is much more balanced, and more fun to drive.
Somehow the 200 HP seems to fit the overall character of the TSX. I'm fine with it.
Just my 3 cents (adjusted for inflation).

When you mean balanced, do you mean better handling? just asking because I once pushed a TT pretty hard and thought the handling was fun and easy to control. Not that the TSX isn't. But I also tend to baby my TSX more than necessary so I have not pushed it as hard as I could.

Good guess...

I'm closing because this has been discussed a million other times (both by itself and in comparison to other cars). Do a search for the information you need and if necessary, post there.
