TSX in Hong Kong?
TSX in Hong Kong?
Does anyone know if this car is available in Hong Kong? The reason I ask is I have a close family friend that is coming from HK very very soon and asked if I needed anything. I'm hoping that the HK version of the TSX (if any) has something neat that we here in N/A don't. Anyone know?
Thanks!
Thanks!
In Hong Kong it's going to be the Honda Accord. Probably the Euro-R if I was informed right, would be the closest match to the TSX, at least so far as the equipment goes. I think the Euro-R has a 220hp K20 in it though.

I don't think the TSX will be available in HK, at least in the near future. I even contacted the HK dealer about it but they didn't say anything. The Euro R is not going to be available in HK either. They sell the USDM Accord over there, sheesh.

I would think there's no market there for a TSX. You either have the rich people who are going to get BMWs and Benz's (for the status), or the common folks who won't even think about getting a car, or get something cheap like a Civic (even that is not cheap in HK).
I was in HK for eight months earlier this year, and saw two Euro/JDM Accords in that entire time (maybe one, I think it was the same one). It's not offered for sale in the local HK market and so must be imported from Japan. That said, I don't know if they would be Euro-R versions or not. Unfortunately, Hondas are not very popular in HK except for the Jazz/Fit.

i dunno what happened to www.acura.co.hk
last time i checked they sold the base RSX, RL and something else
www.honda.co.hk has the s2000, JDM odyssey, USDM accord, stepwgn (whatever the hell that is), CR-V, stream, appears to be the JDM civic and the jazz
no euro accord/CL7

Try www.acura.com.hk - all they have are the old 3.5RL and RSX (no Type S). They also got the old 1st and 2nd gen TLs, but not the 3rd gen. I imagine they will get the new RL once that's released as well.

There is one Infiniti model in HK too: Q45. You can find it in Nissan's showroom in HK.

Acura's offerings in HK are not huge. Honda itself doesn't have a very large presence either. At the end of the day, HK is a small market for them. I wouldn't be surprised if they phase out the Acura nameplate there and return everything to Honda. It would make more sense because they never really developed the Acura name and it doesn't look like they're going to continue to do so either.

The real reason behind all messes is:
not only Honda/Acura, all dealers of the Japanese brands in HK have been battling with those importers for decades. The importers always seem to have a lower prices for their cars:
like Integra Type-R vs RSX, Harrier vs RX300(no 330 in HK), Cima vs Q45 or R34 GT-R V-Spec II vs normal spec 200hp Skyline sedan which the Nissan dealer offered...
The dealers don't want to deal with the importers anymore nowdays, they decided to offer something else like the cheaper USDM Accord to fight the JDM Accord from the importers.
HK's automobile market is so unique, there's no anywhere else in the world like it.

Importer offer lower price.

Anyway, back to the Topic. as Accsuperstar found out & said before, The price wasn't cheaper than you order in US/Canada.
