TSX Coupe and Convertable?!

*<-- Note: grain of salt

At the Austin Texas Auto show today I was talking to an "Acura representative". (I wish now I had found out basics like title and name.) His comments:

The RSX model ends after this year and will be replaced by a TSX coupe. He added that there was there is a possiblity of a TSX convertable.

Sadly it is only after I walked away that I thought of all the other questions I should have asked.

For example: I am not sure if he was talking about the next model year 07 or at the next TSX model change over for the 2008. It seems unlikely that Acura would design and deliver a new style of a model it was due to be replaced by the next generation.

Anyone care to share their insights?

It wouldn't surprise me since Lexus will do this with the new IS and these cars need to compete with the 3 series, that will have all those styles.

Admission is $5. Use a coupon from the paper and save an additional $1. Parking can set you back depending on where you park $5 to $7. Hours are something like 10am to 10pm.

You'll see Acura of course, all the Japanese luxury brands and the German along with the American brands too. Lotus is represented. All are new cars currently available. I won't quote those prices, but if you bring cash I imagine you could drive most anything off the floor.

It is likely that we'll see a new RSX on the next gen TSX chassis, but this car will NOT debut next year! I am 100% positive!

I got money on the RSX still being around next year, anyone wanna pay up to me now or wait till model year 2007?
You won't see a convertible TSX anytime soon either. How many Acura vehicles have you seen with a drop top? Can't think of one, nor will you. Dealers talk out their asses thinking they know, when they actually don't know. You get better info reading Car and Driver, Motortrend and the such.
Chances are, you'll see a turbo from the RDX in the TSX before a coupe or convertible.

Exactly why Acura needs a convertible all the luxury brand has one. Acura needs one. Hopefully it will be a four door convertible.

Gotta weigh in on that exhaust of the IS. Why does this seem to be the trend now? Making the exhaust pipes in the center. If you photochopped that picture and put dual exhaust on it, the car would look way better.

ya acura is plannin to take away the rsx. it is being done bec of too much competition with the civic si etc. so what acura is goin to do is make a coupe (convertible idk) that is aimed for a higher price tag and more luxury to widen the gap between honda and acura. this is done so by makin a tsx coupe. itll be one sickkkkk lookin car

I doubt that there wouldnt be any left. The dealers already stop getting the rsx. My friend just bought one and there was about 2-3 left. I doubt that there wouldnt be anymore by end of this year.
