I buy outright and keep my cars for over ten years. I would also choose the TSX. Way to many complaints for me with the BMW from close friends, they would never buy again, unless they lease. If I was however leasing and they were the same price, I would choose the BMW. But I don't, so I won't

Overall driving better in the IS?

I guess if you love the soft/disconnected ride and lack of steering feedback, the IS is the better car.

I agree with the 3-series being the better "driver's car." However, even priced equally, I'd take my TSX due to piece of mind. My bother's E46 325i is in the shop regularly as opposed to my TSX that hasn't even been to the dealer for a single problem.

However, the TSX is priced in such a way that it appeals to consumers looking for luxury and performance at a bargain. There's no denying that the TSX is a great deal at it's current price. However, it doesn't really compete in terms of overall driving excellence with the 3-series or the IS250/350.

The TSX is a cool car, and it's pretty quick, but let's face it... anyone who goes out with the sole intention of getting the best sports sedan in the class without regards for money will get something other than the TSX.
IS's are big soft boats. When the put a MT in the IS350 then they can start calling it a sport sedan.

Absolutely 100% agree, as I'm also on the Ten Year Plan. Money is not always the driving factor (ha) for me and several others on this board; the TSX fit my needs with the best value - for me. I could go out and lease, maybe even buy, a new M5 tomorrow if I wanted, but I don't need it and the value is not (currently!)there.
