Lightbulb TSX 05 + iphone 3G solution??

Hi,

I have been reading in the forum and try to find a solution for iphone 3G + 05 TSX (no navi).

all the posts were pretty old, and I am wondering if there any new things coming out?

are we still looking at
PA11-HON2Y
and
DICE
??

can anyone give me a quick answer on what would work and what would not work?
I am assuming the installation would be pretty straight forward, right?

thanks a lot.

The isimple/PXMAG from Peripheral Electronics would work in your 05/non Nav. It works great with the iphone 3G (control the ipod from the steering wheel and radio buttons), but remember it does not charge it. If charging the phone is really important to you, there are adapters that convert the old power setup to the new one that the iphone 3g requires.

Hope this helps.

hi,
thanks,

How easy/difficult to install the unit on my 05 tax???
I ask the guy at bestbuy, he said it is not easy.

But from what I read online, it is not that difficult.

anyone has experience with it?

i tried to take out the compartment at the center panel, can't really see the cables ??

any suggestion?

thanks

i have a USA Spec PA15-Hon2 on my 04 tsx with navi.

the iPhone 3G works fine with it, however my main gripe is that if i use the steering wheel controls to change the song, about 10 seconds after the song plays, i get that "charging beep" throughout my car speakers. If i change the song directly from my iPhone, the sound does not happen. Let me know if you have any questions about the USA Spec PA15-Hon2

How hard was the USA Spec to install? I just ordered one for my 2004 TSX w/ NAV.

super simple. There is something plugged into the aux plug underneath the radio. You unplug it, and plug it into the Y-adapter and then plug the USA Spec into the aux plug. It took about 5 minutes.

I was in the same boat as you. What I did was purchased a Parrot bluetooth MKI9200 kit from Amazon for about $220 and an XM radio for $126 from amazon as well.

I took them to Sound Depot & Performance here in Gainesville and they installed it for me. I did need a FM modulator that I had to buy from them to override the FM stations. They charged me $320 for installation.

The audio installer asked me how much I paid for the bluetooth and XM radio and when I told him the price he was a little shocked and told me that that price is about what he gets the same products for.

I installed the XM radio in the middle console and they put the wires for the ipod in the glove box. I had the Parrot screen installed right below the radio and put the clip on the steering wheel.

This gives TSX owners who don't have bluetooth the ability to have bluetooth phone, XM radio and iPod integration and it's all for about the same price as the brain that only gives you the iPod hardwire.

After I had it installed I went and bought a bluetooth transmitter for my 160GB iPod and now I can control my iPod in my car without any wires. The only thing that sucks is the location of the XM radio but there's not much room in the TSX to put it anywhere else and I don't want to override the car with a bunch of electronics. I want to keep it classy.

If you want to see any pictures send me a message.
