Is the trunk tray useful?
Miraculously, I was well within my budget last month and I have a bit of extra cash to blow (no, I will not send it to you). I was thinking about getting something for the car, and I was just wondering is there ever a time when you said "damn, I'm glad I got that trunk tray!"? Is it a good purchase, or should I just put the money toward wheels?

Every new scratch my trunk tray gets is one less for the trunk itself.
And next time your case of Mobil 1 from Costco springs a leak, you're covered with the trunk tray.

So far I've taken my trunk tray out 3 times to hose it off.
1) Leaky milk from the grocery.
2) Sand from the beach
3) Mud from mountain biking.
To this day, I'm sure my old Honda Accord still has Florida sand and Texas river mud embedded in it.

I ordered the trunk tray and the cargo net, but I haven't taken delivery of my new cah yet---oooooooo, less than 24 hours!!!!!
Anyway, while we're discussing the trunk, what are people's opinions on the cargo net?

i received my trunktray from tim last week and IMO makes the trunk look nicer and neater. nothing's spilled yet, but once something does spill i have the convenience of just spraying it off with a hose...as opposed to trying to dry/rub it out of the trunk fabric

The trunk tray and all season floor mat are scored. The trunk tray minimize things from rolling around in the back. The mats are ok, they tend to collect dirt very quickly, but will be extremely good in the winter. On top of that, I got them for free at negotiation time.

The tray is just what I wanted and I expect to use it as others have stated. To keep things from rolling around and avoid the mess.
As for the cargo net - it looks to require more installation that I had expected, but it doesn't look too terribly bad. The kit only comes with the alignment guide, so goto Tim's site and print out the PDF. Basically it looks like you drill 2 holes (big bit or 15mm hole saw) for the top latches and re-use the trunk-liner snaps for the bottom. I'm really looking forward to having the net up. Nice to keep small things in place that I don't want in the seat area.

Unless you're thinking of getting a subwoofer box at some point (I don't know if the trunk tray would get in the way)... get the trunk tray. The first time something spills, leaks, or pours out all over the damn place in your trunk, you'll thank yourself for getting the tray. Come'on now, it's like only $76.70 + S/H from Tim at hondacuraworld.com.

My dealer threw in the trunk tray and splash guards when I ordered my TSX. It isn't here yet (hopefully within 2 weeks), but from the responses in this thread, I'm sure I'll appreciate how handy the tray will be. I play a lot of soccer and just throw my cleats and sweaty/dirty gear in the back seat of the Buick Century I'm currently driving. Needless to say, they will be going in the trunk once the TSX is here.
The Century actually as a cargo net in the trunk, and I think I'm going to see if I can transplant it to the TSX, hope it fits.
About the floor mats...do they feel 'weird' underfoot? They are rubber, right? I was going to push to have them thrown in, too, but decided against it. I figure I can get a cheap set of mats at WalMart or something if I need them.

I was actually afraid stuff would roll around on the plastic trunk tray more than on the carpeted trunk, but I don't guess that's a problem.
I bought the trunk tray and put it in last week.. it makes my trunk feel a little smaller, but I'm sure it's just a perception thing.
I also have CaseLogic's trunk organizer.. a rectangular duffle with velcro on the bottom. The velcro held it in place on the carpet, but I don't think it's sliding around on the tray now, so it's all good.

But my backordered trunk tray is now waiting for me at the dealer, and I'm not that excited to pick it up 'cause I figured the cargo bag would end up sliding around without carpet to stick to.
Anyway, I'd prefer to trade in the trunk tray for credit toward some oil changes or something (dealer says that's not an option), but I'm sure it'll end up being useful down the line.
