Trunk Tray

Has anyone bought the trunk tray? And if so how is the quality? I was thinking to purchase one since I place my mountain bike in the trunk and dirt gets everywhere.

Excellent idea, much easier id think to get dirt mud etc etc off the trunk tray rather than the carpet in the trunk, the tray is pretty flimsy when you remove it but once in place in the trunk its just fine and easy to clean no less.

a couple of inches high at the open end and only an inch or so towards the back.

probably cheaper online. Check here and compare the price after shipping before you get it local.

I'm sure it's a hell of a lot easier to install than the stupid cargo net .. :sqnteek:

it does the job really well. could be a little more sturdy, but it's lighter and easier to flex because of that. i only wish i had received it a few days before my little "tuna sandwich" episode. damn fish, why do you taste so good and smell so bad? i know you tsxers, go ahead, make your perv jokes while you can.
anyway, at least the trunk carpet is pretty easy to clean and doesn't absorb odors easily (as long as it's cleaned fairly quickly after an accident).

Ya. I agree with all of the comments.
Its a little a filmsy and could be more sturdy. But, does the job. Its kept mud and debris from my gear off of the carpet.
Goes in super easy unlike the stupid cargo net which fortunately I did not get. Should not take more than 60 seconds to install if that.
The fit is great. Plus, there are cuts for the tie down... nice touch. But, the "skirt" around the cuts is minimal which I can image to be a problem if you intend on carrying a lot a wet stuff.

I think it is great. I don't mind that it is a little thinner than the all season mats....it makes it easier to get in and out to clean it. I throw everything in the trunk with no worries....baseball cleats, golf shoes, basketballs, etc....

So no "lip" on the left & right ? So if a glass water is spilled, it's quite possible the water will get over the mat & run under it ?

That's no good for me for what it costs.... :thumbsdn:

It has a shallow lip all around and merely drops into the trunk fitting fairly well. From what I recall It has pass thrus for the tiedowns so it's not going to do so well as far as liquids are concerned.
BTW What kind of mtn bike do you ride ?

No, there is a "lip/skirt" around it. Its just lower around the cut outs/pass thrus.
You might have to take a look at one to see if it meets your needs before you pass judgement...

plenty lip. It's not quite as straight up and down in back but you'd have to stick a hose in and turn it on to flood it.

left corner when looking into the trunk. When you look at the full size you can see plenty of dirt that it's caught and I've never really thrown anything dirty in it.

I'm thinking of buying the trunk tray and a Nissan 350Z cargo net ... does the trunk tray allow access to the D-rings on the trunk so that I can clip the cargo net to them?

Sounds like the coupe one (there's a few pics in those threads too):

I think it's pretty useful. As has been said, it's pretty flimsy, but I think it has to be in order to bend to get it in place. I look at the thing though, and to think that Acura charges $100 for it just blows my mind. I know accessories are inherently overpriced, but man, this is like $.50 worth of material. I like mine but had it thrown in as part of the deal, not sure if I could have stomached paying $100 for it.

I got mine from Curry Acura in NY. They were excellent to work with and I had within 2 days of paying. They take a good percentage off of all of their Acura parts (something like 20-25%)
Good luck...
