A tree fell on my car!!!

Phuck!!! A big ass branch broke off from a tree in the sidewalk and fell on top of my car. It shattered the back window into pieces and left two dents where the glass meets the frame of the car on the roof. Stupid tree....stupid weather! Bad luck on my part. How much am I looking at?? I haven't called the insurance company yet.

All that should be covered by your insurance, shouldn't it? I'd call your insurance guy and let him know what happened. You'll just have to pay your deductable.

I dodged a bullet on the last and final snow dump this past winter - snow weight boke a big thick branch in the dead of night.
I found it laying next to my car the next morning.
I was about to get the ax and chop down all them mofo trees on that side of the house
It appeard it hit passenger-side mirror, caused a little nick but nothing else.

That sucks big time. Maybe some Acura hating squirrels in your area. As for insurance, it is covered under your comprehensive coverage. Check your policy or call your retail agent to see if a deductible applies.

ouch, that sucks. sorry to hear. with any luck, the insurance company won't make this any harder for you.

even though the shade is nice, i don't park under trees because of falling debris, sap, and bird crap. i have enough trouble keeping the car clean as it is.

Yes I just took some pics. Haven't uploaded any. I did it for insurance purposes. Don't know if I'll post any though...since my dsl is dead and all. Maybe when it's back up, I'll give you guys a good laugh. NOT!!!

Anyway, I called my insurance, I will have to pay dedutible. I'm trying to get my landlord to pay for it though with his home insurance. Anybody know if that's going to work? How would that work? I mean the tree was in his yard and I parked under it and it fell on top of my car due to bad weather. Shouldn't he be able to cover it under home owners insurance?

That would be tough to do. You would basically have to prove that the tree was rotted out and neglected. The way homeowners policies are set up they basically state that a fallen tree is an act of God and not the fault of the named insured. Unless, of course, you can prove that the tree was hazardous and you have written documentation to back up your claim.

Good luck.

Dayum!! Sorry to hear about your misfortune. Another thing about homeowners insurance is that the deductable is sky high. Maybe even more than your repairs....... Anyway, I hope your insurance company takes care of it.

Ouch!
Although it doesn't look too bad. I would be shocked if i walked out of the house and saw that. However, it doesn't look too bad since it looks as if the tree had plenty of leaves to cushion the fall when it hit the car. Plus the branches that the leaves are connected to dont look that thick or heavy.

That looks almost similar to what i experienced. But it does seem like the there were a lot of leaves to cushion the fall. I had an almost bare tree and the fat part of the branch fell right on top of the back window. Oh well........it's over. Just gotta get it fixed.
