Trading in 2001 CL-S for TSX 6 speed
Hey guys... I have a 2001 CL type S, and my 3rd transmission just died. i'm sure you guys have heard about the infamous transmission issues with the TL/CL/ and the accord slushboxes. Well i just about had it when my THIRD tranny died today, and i will be trading in my CL-S for a new '04 TSX six speed with navi. I was just wondering with intake/headers/exhaust what kind of quarter mile times you guys were seeing? im going to miss the 260hp six cyl. on the CL-S... with headers, intake, exhaust i was expecting high 13's on the 1/4 on the CL-S. just wanted to see how much performance i was going to lose in the switch to the 4 cyl TSX engine

congrats... well not on a 3rd blown tranny, but welcome to the club.
you'll find that a I4 doesn't respond to I/H/E like a V6, and dynos for the exhaust and header have been :shit:
A header is good for 7-12HP. I think kurt_bradley posted the best 1/4 mile times, search for his post

thanks for your commentsWhat a shame they just approved the recall for your cars tranny too. That SUCKS. We have a TL Type S & the thrust is not even close. But Youll enjoy the six speed its off the hook. Really smooth. I like the swiftness of the car but it doesnt jerk you back like th TL does. But I never eas 100% on the TL anyway because it was an Auto. So I dont mind Plus its a parents car so im not even used to driving it everyday. The power is i would say adequate. Thats the best way to describe my TSX. I heard if you get the auto stick you'll be banging your head against the wall.

lol... i know of the recall. if i get my tranny replaced again, it would be my FOURTH transmission with acura. i dont care about the recall or the warranty anymore, when you downshift from 5th gear to 2nd gear involuntarily at freeway speeds, you're going to get into an accident... like i almost did several times.
