Yeah, not as much low end loss but not as much top end gain.

Injen Dyno (5AT)

Icebox Dyno (no tranny given)

It's pretty sad when the legs of unknown insurance brokers, the only info we have of which are that thought she was young and sexy, are being humped...

me too. It's gone by so fast....and wow, I can't believe you made this trade. $1100 is pretty good however - cheaper than a paint job and tranny swap. Enjoy the shifting!!

Damn right. I spent $500 on that Turbonator.

I again just want to re-iterate that anyone with a AT and CAI should remove it immediatley and return to stock. There is a HUGE difference on the low end. I'm almost regretting getting the MT. Its a different car.

I've really been enjoying learning! Have always wanted to. I just don't have a car to practice with besides his, so it's a bit tough. But he said I actually picked it up really quickly--much better than any of the other friends he's taught!

Okay, so I guess I fall for all that mushy stuff...I bet you the new clutch is already in the mail.

Its always good to know. I taught my wife on my Civic a few years ago but she really never drove it and says she forgot so I guess I'll be giving her lessens this spring.

But, seriously, take a look at the Icebox ... or, the DIY intake that was posted about 6 months ago (similar to Peter_Bigblock's home made one). Personally, I think the larger volume lid of the Icebox makes a big difference in throttle response.

Just pay the dealer another $1100 and I'm sure he'll have you back in your old car in no time.

Whenever I put my Injen in, I can definitely tell I'm losing some in the low end. The Comptech icebox is much better for the low end. Check out this dyno done by Asahi.

Blue - Injen
Red - Icebox
Green - Stock

Thanks

Couple of questions. What do you mean by "Whenever I put my Injen in". How often do you switch over and why?

According to that dyno, the stock TSX is pratcically making more power throughout, which is especially strange at the top end of both the HP and Tq curves. ??

That's weird. Why would an intake that chokes off and heats up intake air produce more power? And why only on 5AT vehicles? It makes no sense to me at all.

Different dynos different cars so take those with a grain of salt. If I remember right(and i'm not sure where the thread is) someone dyno'd back to back injen and icebox and their results showed that low end and top end the icebox was better with the injen stronger in the midrange.

I know what you mean about the low end dom. Even with an icebox(which doesn't lose as much low end) I was very happy to put my stock intake back on after a year or so with the icebox. It made cruising on the freeway much more enjoyable and I loved the quietness.

EDIT: I'm a noob who didn't read through the whole thread before posting.

Only edit my face in there if it says 6at IS350 sport
