Touchscreens
So, I'm starting to think about my post-TSX vehicle. Since I bought my TSX (about 2 weeks after they hit the states!) I've had some changes in my economic situation and I'm now in a position to spend a bit more on a car. So, I went to look at the RL over the weekend.
I have to say that it is disappointing that the RL (and RDX) both have abandoned the touch screen for one goofy dial in the middle of the dash. The screen is also moved further away from the driver so it is hard to see.
I suspect that the next gen TSX will have a similar goofy interface, and I think that is a big mistake. I just love how easy and intutive the controls are on my current car.
Right now, I think I'd upgrade to a TL instead of an RL because I can't live with that interior of the RL (if you own an RL, please don't be angry with me, its a great car - I just don't like the NAV layout). But, since I want to get away from FWD, I'll probably just get an Infiniti instead.
I think Acura should stick with the NAV they put in the TSX, or they'll lose more drivers like myself.
Thoughts?

Touchscreen NAVI is really nice, I can't imagine doing everything with a stick/dial. But to me, the more disturbing trend at Acura is the apparent move away from Manual transmissions. Lose that, and they will lose even more "drivers" to BMW and Infiniti than they already do!
I had to take an emergency trip to Denver because of a family member in the hospital. Having a touchscreen Navi has really saved me a lot of time finding the hotel, hospital, places to eat, stores, gas, etc.. I'm usually no more that 3 or 4 touches away from finding my destinations. It takes about the same amount of effort to use the touch screen Navi as it does to operate the radio or A/C. The voice commands are way too many to remember and they only work about 30% of the time correctly.
My wish would be Acura would provide a knob AND a touch screen at the same time. Acura would also move the knob on the center console for an easy reach.
PLEASE DON'T TAKE OUR TOUCHSCREEN AWAY ACURA!!!!
