Hi, does anyone know the top speed at 3rd gear in 5AT?

I can't confirm for sure, since I only got up to about 90, but extrapolating the RPM at 90mph, it's somewhere around 100 +/- 5 mph.

FYI, you can still downshift from 4 to 3 (and from D to D3) at 80mph.

 

my TSX would not let me down shift from 4 to 3 when i was driving 140Km/H in sport shift mode.. the display have 3 blink for a few sec and then return to 4 again. thanks..

 

3rd gear top speed in the 5at tsx is i believe 107@7100
rpms

 

think i must check it out again, i know at 4th i was only at 4k rpm, but it would not let me down shift to 3rd... maybe it know there is a police car nearby!! heheheh

 

gogozy- Although you can run up to redline in any gear before upshifting, you cannot downshift to that gear if the RPM (in that gear) would be higher than a much lower RPM than redline. (Did that make sense?) I don't know what the RPM limit is for downshifting, but I know it's not redline.

Take 1st gear, for instance. The maximum speed you can downshift to 1st gear is 30mph/48kph, but you can go much faster in 1st gear by itself before you shift to 2nd.

I haven't tried this yet, but I wonder if you can downshift into D3 at higher RPM than 4 --> 3, then quickly move the shifter over to SS mode...

That info is in your manual. All Hondas/Acuras come with top speed per gear info
