TL-S coming (again) in 2007 - TSX-S??

For 2007, the Acura TL line will sprout a Type-S boasting a more powerful engine and a sport-tuned suspension. According to The Boston Globe, power output grows to 286, a gain of 28 hp, and torque rises 23 lb-ft. to 256.
Might as well just have the wheels pointing sideways. Good luck getting traction and not kicking in the VSA.

Don't get me wrong, I'm really glad to see Acura have a Type-S lineup. I'll be at the local dealer waiting for my turn to drive one when it comes out.
Did anyone fill out the irritating online Acura survey after they bought their car? I did. I remember them asking if I'd be interested in a "performance oriented" lineup comarable to BMW's M and Mercedes-Benz's AMG models.
Too bad "hell yes" wasn't an option.
I immediately thought of a potential Type-S when answering this question.

At this price, seems like it will have a tough time competing with the 07G and the 335i

At $35-37K you can get a fully loaded G35 current generation and it's 275hp auto/ 293hp manual than the $39K TL type S.
Also, why get an 2007 TL-S when the next gen TL is around the corner in 2008?

I'm basing this off the feedback from highly tuned, high-torque FWD cars like the RSX and Civc swap owners. When many of them switch to a Quaife or ITR LSD, the torque steer got worse.

I posted this on the other TL-S off topic thread, but does anyone foresee that with the release of the TL-S again, won't it make the RL redundant?
I predict that the TL-S will hurt RL sales even more. Aside from the SH-AWD, has 4 more hp, and its made in Japan, I think the TL-S will steal sales from it's brother.

Lito did a honda conversion...
On autoweek they have a bunch of pics of the new TL and typeS...I'm not pleased. The back of the typeS is WAY too busy with badges and new taillights and quad exhaust. I like the exhaust but I'd remove the badges (like I just did on my TSX).
the new fogs relocated to the lower bumper look out of place to me. it messes up the proportions of the front.
and the worst of all...the rims. They are hideous. who the hell authorized those? I've never even see any like that before. and I though the '06 TSX rims were bad...
to say the least I'm glad my dad already has an '05 TL. I mean for the extra 7 grand to upgrade to a typeS he could do intake, exhaust and headers for comparable power and get some aftermarket springs and sway bars to bring the handling up to par. by some rough calculations those mods would come in under 3K.
how do you guys think the typeS will sell? it seems to be a much more hardcore car than the previous generation typeS.

She said: it's GINORMOUS!
yeah, it's too late in the TSX model years to have a Type S. Hopefully we will see it for the 2nd gen TSX using the Sports 4 concept - with a four door and two door setup.
that would be nice.
