Title Messed up! This is some crazy crap!
Hello!
Well, back in January of this year, I purchased a 2007 Acura TSX with Navigation (CGP). I paid cash for the car, and I received my title shortly after I paid for it. Well, yesterday I had to take my car in for its first service. While I was waiting in the customer waiting area, the service writer came in to ask me if all of my contact information was correct. I verifyed that it was and he left. After my car was serviced, the Service Manager approached me to inform me that my paperwork was messed up. Apparently, the vin # on my title, and the vin# on my car DO NOT MATCH! They're baffled as to how this happened, but nonetheless, it has. So, she told me that I will have to come into the dealership on Monday or Tuesday of this week, fill out paperwork, and give them my title. Has this happened to anyone else before? If so, what are the procedures to correct this? I do have a few concerns that I will address with whoever I deal with on Monday or Tuesday. These are:
1. Will I get another title that says "corrected" or "adjusted"?
2. If #1 does happen, aren't I entitled to some form of compensation?
3. HOW the HELL could something like this happen?
Thanks all,
Jeff

they probably will ask you if you checked the title when you first received it to make sure all info was correct. as the old saying goes-shit happens. maybe they will be nice and give you something free for havingto deal with inconvenience-like a free oil change. I never had that problem and I have bought many cars. good luck

It would look like they gave you the wrong Certificate of Origin. They probably have another car out there with the same problem, your title will match his VIN and His will match yours.
