To those with rock chips and minor scratches

I was getting PO'ed at the million rock chips on the hood and front bumper of my car, along with that someone hit the driver's side rear corner of my car with a shopping cart a scratched it, plus in the same parking lot someone opened their door super wide after parking within centimeters of me and scratched my door.

Well needless to say after all that the mixture of anger and depression at the sight of all this on my beautiful TSX was overwhelming. Well today I went ahead and tried to get rid of them with the following products.

1. Meguiars Cleaner Wax
2. Meguiars Paint Cleaner
3. Meguiars Polish
4. Meguiars Carnauba Wax
5. Megiuars Gold Class Wax

In that order and I'm happy to say 80% of the rock chips are gone, the horrible swirl scratches (far to visible to be called merely swirl marks), the door and the the shopping cart injury all gone.

It was super hot and didn't know if it would work very well so I only did it on the spots where the mishaps were so my car is all sorts of mismatched shiny but the damage is all gone and now I know it works so this weekend in a friends garage I'll do the whole car.

I wish I would have taken close up before pics so I can show you guys both but I didn't think it was going to turn out as good as it did. Not trying to be a Meguiars groupie but my friends brother is obsest with them and I said F%$# It and tried it, he had all the wax at his house so it was free  . I guess I'll go buy some now, oh and all there wax smells awesome the best being the carnauba wax that smells like the old Quick Bananna Mix for milk from back in the day.

Tell me about it... Im sick of the rock kick ups on my underskirts. Today I used Meguiars Gold Glass Wax, and did a rough coat over the car. Majority of the scratches dissapeared except for the ones that can be felt with the tip of your finger. Arghghghgh

Megiuars Gold Class Wax <======= awesome stuff!! I wonder if claying your car would also help. I know it helps put an awesome "wet look" shine on your ride

btw, the rock marks I really hate are the ones in the windshield

I like to use Meguir's Scratch-X followed up by a good coat of Zaino car polish. I love the look of Gold Class but it doesn't shine long enough for me.

Spent some time and a little elbow grease and it seemed to make a difference. Going to try my new PC 7424 next weekend on the front bumper with some harsher abrasives.

Scratch-X has worked well for me, but I've got a few chips that will need filling. One is on the hood and starting to rust. It's very small but stil...maybe I should complain to the dealer?

Ha! I simply order that dish just b/c it's fun to say...i crack up everytime... (yeah, I live a saaaad and lonely life )

My rock chips seem to multiply by the dozens every week. Now that the summer season is soon approaching I'll def get out there and wax it up to try restore a much cleaner look. I'm still debating to wait until it gets really noticeable and out of control to then repaint/replace the entire front end...or just dish out 1,000 bizzucks to get a clear bra. Haven't found a place any cheaper than that here in the NOVA area

I'd like to know if there are remedies for the small chips as well... although my clear film stops the majority of them from happening, I'm starting to see a few on the non-protected portions of the hood.

try turtle wax color cure in whatever color ur TSX is in. I found that if u heat it up a little bit or let it sit in the sun, it goes on easier. Also use a lot less than u think u need or it will take u 4+ hours to do ur car lol.

From what i hear, claying the car gets out impurities that are on the car. I.E Sap, and Soot...

Claying does work well, just another time consuming step but well worth it.
