thinking about buying a tsx

hey all... newbie here... let me tell u my past really quick... first car was an integra... lots of mods... turbo lsvtec running 11's... stolen.. then bought a eclipse gst (fwd turbo) made that 12's and loved it..... sold that cus now my wife is pregnant and obviously we need a 4 door.... so sold the eclipse and bought an 06' accord... gave that to her and i took her 00 cherokee. which i hate lol... so this august is my bday so I'm going to trade this sucker in and get me something nice. I can't make up my mind from deciding on a evo or a tsx... now here are some pro's and con's.... can anyone add to them? but be fair since i know this is a acura forum tl is also an option but that means i will have to get one used alittle more so in can be in ball park of my price range 19k - 25k.

evo is faster, tsx being slower
if purchased tsx will be auto so wife can drive it if needed... evo only comes in stick
tsx will be purchased with navi... evo doesn't come with navi....
evo = awd for all weather (I will gett winter tires if purchased). tsx = fwd
both will be purchased used.
i believe evo's and tsx interior room are equivalent..

thanks guys

You can surely bet that a used Evo will have been mistreated - it is just thst type of car. More chance that the TSX auto will have been taken care of and not mistreated. Just my thoughts. Unless you are buying an Evo new, stay away.

I agree if you are going to purchase an EVO I would say do not get a used one if you can help it. Another thing is if you are going to buy the TSX used I would say if possible try to get an 06 or newer since Acura did a few updates to that car. As far as which car will be more reliable I havent heard anything about the evos one way or another. I know the TSX will be but I cant say if they evo will or wont. I think its more up to do you want luxury or sport?

I came in here to post this. It is an apples to oranges comparison. One is a street-legal rally car, that as others have mentioned, will have some hard miles on it if you buy it used. The other is an economical sedan with good ergonomics and creature comforts, notorious reliability, and a sporty appearance.

The OP seems to favor utility over performance. Since he wants an auto TSX so his wife can drive it, it seems like a no-brainer that the mantran-only Evo isn't even a viable option at this point.

Both cars are great in their respective categories but the comparison is really awkward.
