thing in my rim

thing in my rim

in my front right rim theres like multiple block looking things in a retangle shape does anyone know what that is? I haven't noticed it till now

They are present in all cars I've seen. Why they are there... I don't know. After all, the air "input" tube already serves as an extra weight on the rim. Negligible for sure, but then why the puny weight?

Simply put, because neither the wheel or the tire are perfectly round, and when you put the two together there is an
"imbalance" at a/multiple RPM ranges- anything that spins needs to be perfectly round or balanced as to not create vibrations. On a radial tire there can be longitudinal and lateral imbalances that can both cause shake or shimy. The wheel weights are used to counter both hence the need for one being on the inside of the wheel and one on the outside of the wheel. And yes from time to time a wheel/tire will need NO wheel weight to be balanced. Hope that clears things up for you
