Only sold them for a few years as part of the failed Honda/Isuzu partnership. I'm pretty sure Acura techs hate them about as much as we (Honda techs) hate Passports. I know it took a long time to clear the last few off our Acura store's lot.

A few weeks ago on the way to work I was on the interstate and something caught my eye behind me, a vehicle belching out huge amounts of grey/blue smoke. When it got closer I noticed it was a Honda Passport. Blew by me at 85+. I wonder how much longer that motor lasted. Looked like it had some type of major oil leak.

It's too bad they wasted the name. I always envisioned the SLX name for a sleek, upscale, Acura two door coupe convertible similar to the Lexus SC or Mercedes CLK.

It's funny how you say honda/acura failed partnership, cuz I work at a nissan dealership, and we are starting to turn down Isuzus after our failed Nissan/Isuzu parnership. And us techs here at Nissan hate Isuzus hahaha. Engines are always coming in with knocks and oil leaks, and thats if they are driven in, other tiems they are towed in :gheylaugh: . Anyways, GMC picked up Isuzu, lets see how long that part nership lasts

Fortunately, at least most Pissports are by now out of warranty. I think GM has had a hand in Isuzu for quite a while now as there's a lot of Delco stuff on every Passport. I hear Isuzu is down to just one model now, a rebadged Chevy Trail Blazer. I think the end may be near????

Yeah it's funny cuz one of the other techs at my work is a GMC fan and he purchased a GMC Envoy....which is you guessed it....also rebadged as an Isuzu Ascender....if thats how you spell it...so we're always clowin him, but its all in good fun

Of the 10 people that still own SLX's, probably only half have computers. There's probably no demand.

Nah... if it's the end, it may only be the end for their passenger car dept. But their diesel truck dept seems to be doing pretty well. If you head over to asia, there are lots of small isuzu delivery trucks there.

It's actually the other way around. the Isuzu Ascender is a rebadged Enxoy XL. Just as the Passport was a rebadged Isuzu Rodeo, and the Isuzu Oasis was a rebadged Honda Odyssey.
