Is there a difference with the '06 CD storage pocket??

Ok. Either I'm an idiot or there's something different about removing the CD storage pocket in the 06 TSX vice the 04/05. For the life of me, I can not get the pocket out following all of the directions everyone has provided on the board. I've tried pulling it from both the sides and the bottom but the thing absolutely will not budge. What am I missing here?? HELP!

[Sarcastically] Some strength. Its a bee itch the first time you pull it out. I assume you know the "put both hands inside the pocket, push outward, pull box out"?

Where in VA are you? If you are still stuck, I'll be near VA Beach for a few days.

Really dumb question, but where is this pocket? I've had the car for two weeks and haven't noticed this.

Damn. I know that I'm getting weaker with each passing year but this is crazy. I'm up outside the beltway (DC area). Thanks for the offer though. My in-laws live in the VA Beach area. Nice area. Have a good time but come back in the summer next time.

Thanks!

Yep. That would be the one that's being a PIA.

With the door open, put your right hand fingers inside the right side, left hand fingers inside the left side. Press in with both hands' fingers to put a lot of pressure on the sides, then bend your elbows and use your arms to pull it straight back. It will come.

You can also use the chopstick or hook method. Take out the rubber mat and that will leave two holes in the bin. Stick something the holes to help you get a good grip on the storage bin. You should be able to get it off by then.

For me it's really easy to get out. Just open the compartment underneath (the not an ashtray one), that would give you some access to the bottom side of the compartment you want to take out. You should be able to put your fingers underneath the compartment (and above the now-opened door of the not-an-ashtray bin), and pull it so that you feel the clips let go. Once you do this then pull it out so that it's level, or else the top of it might get blocked.

This gives you a lot more grip than the press both sides method that a lot of people have described, I think. Works for me, at least

Thanks for everyone's help and assurances. I finally got the darn thing out, my iPod interface installed and working beautifully.

In the process, I think that I invented yet another method. Stuff both your fists in side-by-side, push them out to the sides and pull like a madman. Came right out.

Again, thanks for making me feel that I wasn't going to break the thing. This community is much better than my old RSX boards.

I installed the Neo Car Audio PODHONR3V2TL iPod adapter. Works like a champ. Only took 5 minutes to install (after two days of trying to get the storage bay out). I did this in the garage at work today so no pics of the mess but it probably looks like everyone else's. I ran the iPod interface through the light hole (light snapped right back in) so I can keep my iPod in the storage bay. No wires exposed.

I went with Neo's unit because it doesn't lock out the iPod controls on the iPod itself and you don't have to use special naming for your playlists.

I'm going to have my Sirius Stiletto installed next week after I get my Panavise in-dash adapter in the mail. Going to mount it on the right side of the storage bay. Will post pics in the other forum area when that's done. Should look awesome in my BHB/Ebony.

Again... thanks for everyone's help today.

If it means anything... each time after that initial gets easier to get the tray out.

For the future, I've always found that just putting one hand in there and then making a fist and pulling works really well because it forces the top clips to flex and disengage.
