Then Nerve of some people

Came home from work today and noticed a slight dent on my hood. Then noticed a dent on roof above the windshield, and yet another on the trunk. It has been raining a lot here in California so my car is pretty dirty. On the roof and trunk are someone's footprints. Apparently someone jumped on my hood and ran over the roof and trunk. Dents aren't major, but I just can't believe someone would do that to someone elses automobile. What's the point? Whoever it is better hope I don't find them, or they're going to get what's coming to them

You mean like a regular body shop, or are there special dent remover people? What kind of money do they charge?

Generally they are separate from any body shop and call themselves "paintless dent wizards." And they are! They basically carry around a tool set that could only be used for something like dents, or torturing people like you see in the movies. Anyway, they generally use all these funky shaped long tools and go on the underside of the metal and re-form the metal to the contour that it was. The hood and trunk should be easier than the roof since they have direct access to the underside of the metal. The roof...I'm not sure how they will do that one. They generally specialize in door dings and the like...but can do any dent where paint isn't a problem.

Oh yea...they charge anywhere from $50-$250ish, depending on the difficulty.

Dent Wizard.

I'm sure they probably have a franchise in your area and they're pretty cheap. I used them to repair some dents in my front quarter panel on my Prelude (anonymous a-hole backed into me while parked at the library and didn't leave a note) before I sold it, they did a fantastic job.

Did this happen at your workplace?? That is absolutely atrocious behavior. I would seriously break their legs if I found someone doing that to my car.

I think it happened either in front of my house or in front of my friend's house on New Years. Not really sure though.

They would have to remove the interior headliner to gain access to the bare metal under the roof.

The roof can at times be easier then the hood or trunk.

Somtimes if the dent is at a cross brace you are stuck with it, but get the quote first.

I had my dents pulled at a local body shop by a dent wizards guy they contract to come in every few weeks. But the dents can be pulled at your house too.

After the dents got pulled on my Accord I had the body shop install the Accord Coupe side guards to prevent more dents. The dealer always puts them on wavy IMO. My shop used a metal straight edge. I was happy with this result.

In any case, dent wizards may be able to fix the roof, but you may need traditional paint on bondo for the hood or trunk. I had a hammer dent in my Accord trunk that needed real bondo and paint

I know this is an old thread, but just wanted to let Ozzman know that I had the same thing happen to me the other day so I feel your pain. I park in a "secure" garage next to my building, and apparently someone broke in, vandalized 4 or 5 cars, and then proceeded to run across the hood of an entire row of cars, including mine. I noticed the footprints, and then I saw the dents and my heart sunk. Car is only 8 months old, and I baby the thing like I'm sure most of us do, so it was hard to swallow. People are ridiculous. I'm trying to see if the garage is going to cover it, but the info on DentWizards was very helpful so thanks to all who mentioned it. Turns out my home dealer is a DentWizards rep so it works out well in that respect. I'll let you know how it turns out.

Yeah, it does suck frall9, I hope the garage covers it for you. In my case perhaps Karma took care of those responsible. I suspected all along that it was the punk neighbor kids across the street, although I was never 100% sure. Turns out the kids are both gone now. The younger brother stabbed and killed the older brother, and now the younger brother is locked up. Very sad, but if they were the one's responsible like I suspect, I gues they got what was coming to them.
