Text message notification via Bluetooth?

Does anyone know if it's possible to be notified via the integrated bluetooth that you have a new text message? Just some kind of sound would be nice.

Any ideas?

i think if your phone is paired and connected to HFL it just gives a simple beep when you get a text...

Hmmm...my 08 doesn't seem to give any simple beep or anything when a text message comes through. I've got a Motorola Razr v3.

the HFL will NOT beep when you get a text message.

Your best option is to go through your phone settings for when it's connected to a bluetooth device and change it so it beeps when it gets a text and is in Handsfree mode or whatever the equivalent is on your phone.

^^ what they all said, just change your setting so your phone beeps and then you're set. Unless you're fantastic with programming... i'm sure you could reprogram the HFL given enough time and determination...

Normally my phone has an assigned ring when I get a text. But when its paired to the HFL, the phone will beep. If its in my pocket or backpack, I won't hear it. HFL doesn't give you a heads up.

Would be cool if text messages were displayed on the NAVI screen but that would encourage reading while driving.
