Test Drove the 06
Test Drove the 06
Last saturday i test drove the 06, maybe its just me but it felt a bit faster than the 05 i test drove last year. Now i want the car even more. To put my situation into cartoon style, it would be drool coming out of both sides of my mouth when i was driving it, i got so exicted i didnt' even notice that i was still driving with day time light when it was night time already
a PWP non NAVI AT is coming to Toronto in a month or so.....stay tune...

yea i was gonna get an AT also, since it's more of a luxury sports car. But thankful every day I got another MT. ALSO GET THE NAVI. It's so worth the extra cash. I regret not getting the Navi, everytime i get lost.

MT! MT!! MT!!! Otherwise you're flirting dangerously with US Accord territory (4 cyl model). Driving is so much more fun with a stick. Besides, the cash you'll save would make navi more feasible (if that means anything to you).
haha, i guess i will stick to my plan
good try on convincing me though, and i dunno MT anyway and too lazy to bother...hmm maybe later
but i did had a dream of me learning MT though...is it a sign? hahaha

My limited experiences w/ driving an mt and an atx back to back, the mt seemed to drive smoother, handle better (remember the atx has an extra 80~ or so pounds over the front wheels and that's going to make a difference) and felt way, way faster (and yeah I know no one buys a tsx to win races, but the extra pep was definately nice). Not to mention the mtx in the tsx is one of the best I've ever driven. So nice in fact that it's most definately worth learning how to drive stick just to be able to own an mtx tsx. Definately.
When I bought my 2nd car it ended up being a dodge neon and after seeing the differences in how quick the atx and the mtx's were (17 seconds +++ vs high 15s) I opted for the stick, even though I didn't know how to drive one. I limped it home and learned on campus for a few hours so I was proficient enough to get around and over the next couple weeks I perfected it. I thanked the lord every day that I drove it from then on out that I got a stick, and have been in my latest car too. IMHO just about every car should be offered with a stick shift, and for the most part unless you sit in 10 hours of stop and go traffic a day, everyone should have the opportunity to have one. You passing an mtx tsx up now isn't just you short changing yourself once, it's you setting yourself up to be short-changed for the rest of your life. If you don't learn now, when will you? Are you going to just keep buying slower, worse handling, less exciting cars for the rest of your life simply because you don't want to put a little time in learning how to drive? Don't make a decision you'll end up regretting. Learning is simple, swapping to an mtx because you realize you made a stupid mistake is difficult and expensive. lol

Your 23 . . .learn how to drive an MT and get an f'n stick . . .there's plenty of time for an AT later in life . . . .
I don't really know anyone that thinks AT > MT, i hope you were being sarcastion RMATIC.
but i don't understand, the new honda civic...how's it work that the AT actually gets better EPA MPG estimates?

You should get whatever pleases you... I had to get the AT, b/c the wife does not drive MT. Although I liked the MT TSX better, but I thought the AT we test drove was pretty nice as well.

The gearing is different between the AT and MT so, on the highway, at highway speed, the AT TSX was thought to use less fuel even taking the tranny losses into account. The city/hwy numbers were revised for 05 though.

yeah.....but i'm talking about the civic. something fishy is going on that it gets better mpg for AT. i don't remember the numbers, but i think it was a fairly significant difference.

Civic (non-Si): 30/38 5MT, 30/40 5AT
Hehe, and now compare that to the Si: 23/32.

Yup, get the 6 speed manual. I think with a torquey 6 cylinder it could go either way. It's an awesome 4 cylinder engine, but I just wasn't that impressed with my test drive in an Auto.
Of course it's still your decision, but I'd go through the 1-2 weeks of learning stick for the years of enjoyment you'll get out of it.

I wonder if anyone did a poll for all 6-MT owners? If not, I'll start one.
I'll check there. My stupid ass searched this tsx discussions instead. my
bad. If you do a poll you should specify model year.
After reading curls thread in problems and fixes I know I don't experience this problem, and it doesn't look like something to worry about. Minor issue and fixed udner warrantee.

AT is superior for a majority of reasons. Unknown to you noobs, my dealership informed me that the 5AT in the new 06's have a release latch that allows the TSX to transform into a 18 wheeler with the option of a surround sound voice stating "TRANSFORM AND ROLL OUT" .
