South Carolina Acura Dealer sucks

first i make an appointment over the phone and ask the dealership, can they install A Spec springs for me, that i have the part on hand. so i go in there and after waiting for about an hour the guy comes out and says there policy is they cannot install a part that i didn't buy from that dealership, after he told me on the phone that they could. I also was getting a few plastic clips installed under my OEM body kit cause some fell out when i went up a low curb, needless to say they didn't even do that right and tried to charge me $64.00 to install 5 small clicps into a plastic bumper. I was so mad!! I think cause they are like the only Acura dealer within a 1 hour radius that they can do what they want, i will try my best to never go there again!! If your ever in columbia,sc dont stop at the only dealership in town

Yes, McDaniels Acura sucks. I have also had bad experiences with them.

You should change the title to signify which dealer you were talking about....

I was like..."a So. Cali. dealer sucks? I hope it isn't the one near me..." lol

I thought the same until I got to the part where he said that it was the only dealership within 1hr drive. Then I realised it must be South Carolina.

Thread title revised for clarity.

I agree everything in South Carolina is lame. I have a CL that was previously bought at that dealership. I called them and they refused to tell me if the automatic transmission had been worked on while the previous owner had it.

Man, I couldn't agree more. I grudgingly bought my TSX from them. I was sooooo close to choosing another car altogether solely because of their stereotypical shady, slick, dishonest, pushy car salesmen tactics.

Acura should feel proud that the car sold me enough to put up with it. But, they should be ashamed that I felt like I needed a shower after leaving their dealership.

Avoid McDaniels if you can.

I ended up going to Duluth, GA (AcuraCarland) to pick up my '05 TSX. Anyone have any experience with the Charleston Acura dealer? I want to say that one is a McDaniels also. So do any of you SC guys ever meet up or anything like that? There are about 3-4 TSX owners around Florence (one i work with) but we're always looking to get up with others. Her boyfriend is a moderator for S2Ki Carolina's, so I guess we'll be hanging with them when they have their Myrtle Beach meet later on this year. As soon as I get more details I will post if anyone might be interested in attending.

Wish I found this a month ago. I had a TERRIBLE experience with McDaniels! The service manager is an a$$hole.

Avoid at all costs!

have the same problem trying to deal with Stevenson Acura in Wilmington, NC. They are the only acura that is less than 100 miles from me. Luckily I still can bring my tsx to Lehigh Valley Acura in Pa for service when I am visiting family and friends. They are excellent.

Yea I guess they figure they can get away with it since they have somewhat of a monopoly as far as Acura dealerships go. They have Charleston and Columbia covered. The only other Acura dealership I know of is in Greenville, SC and I hear they're no better either.

Please don't tell me this. I was planning on going to McDaniels in Columbia to get my car. I think DJnile is right, they think they can get away with it because they have our area covered.

Find out who the top dogs are at that dealership and write them a letter of complaint and send them a link to this thread of people complaining about them, maybe they'll take actions on the assholes?

Funny you should say that. After my experience with McDaniel's Acura, I wrote Rob McDaniel an email. After 1 week of no response, I sent him a certified letter. NO RESPONSE. He obviously doesn't care that his dealership is garbage.

AVOID AT ALL COSTS!
