someone actually stole my winshield wipers
i don't know if this was to replace their own, or some sort of revenge for me parking in a spot they liked, but when i walked out last night to move my car for streetcleaning, i turned on the wipers and all i heard was metal hooks tracing over glass.
normally, i wouldn't be as pissed, but considering--
1) i'm driving to PA for the weekend
2) it's been raining for 5 days straight in NY
this is kind of a irritating inconvenience. i called up autozone last night to see if they had bosch icons in stock. they all have the driver's side, but no passenger side. it needs to be special ordered.
anyone have luck with the bosch microblades? i know some old threads on here stated they were decent. i don't have time to go to the stealership, so i'm going to have to settle for something.
f'ing people. wtf.

I used them on my previous Volvo and they worked fine; no complaints but given your circumstance and being that it's going to continue to rain, you are better off with anything right now!

boost owns
If you step back for a second and get aside from the fact that it's inconvenient, this is actually sort of funny. What kind of stupid asshole steals wiper blades from a parked car? Sorry dude. Hopefully the wiper hooks didn't scratch your windshield.
If you had time I'd recommend going to the dealership. I've only ever used OEM wiper inserts and they serve me just fine.

lol. i would probably chuckle at the absurdness of the whole situation if it wasn't my car.
i'm going to call acura of manhattan and see if the OEM replacements are reasonably priced. if they are, i'll trek over there during lunch. if not, then i'm going to have to go to autozone and try and pick up the bosch microblades.

the entire arm. even the parts guy was like 'why do you need the entire wiper? why not just buy the inserts?'
acura of manhattan charges $54 for both wipers, paragon $64.
holy ripoff, batman. now i see why someone would steal them.

it didn't scratch it up too bad. there is this really tiny micro-hairline scratch at one section closer to the top, so it's no biggie. my windshield already has a crack from a rock, so i'll probably get it replaced eventually.
anyways, i went to autozone before my trip and picked up some bosch microedge's.
the good: pretty quiet and smooth, relatively cheaper than OEM or icons
the bad: kinda bulky vs. oem's (the metal frame kind of gets into your view), and it seems to skip a pretty large section of the middle of my windshield which was pretty annoying.
the worst part about it--it didn't rain all weekend in PA. haha.
also, i noticed one of the bolts holding together my front license plate frame is missing. i began to wonder if someone just jacked my car for random spare parts.

I'm an Amazon Prime member, and on one or two occasions I really like the small upcharge to 1-day shipping. I bought ICONS last year and got them quick, but sent them back. Weren't a appreciable upgrade from my stock 2006 wipers.
I would'a just got cheaply what would work for the weekend and then order the right part mail order....
