I've been shopping for TLs for a couple of weeks now. I've been to several dealerships in SoCal; most have 2 or 3 cars on the lot, none with the nav (at least none that they can sell). And then there's Tustin Acura; they are overflowing with TLs. They seem to have double the number of TLs this week that they had last week!

Why does this one dealership get so many TLs while the others seem to get almost nothing? Or is it that the other dealers get the same number of cars but sell theirs quickly, while Tustin isn't selling as many and so their inventory builds up?

 

From my understanding the more cars dealers sell, the more cars that are allocated to them from the factory. It might just be that Tustin's past sales history of '03 TLs was great, so they were given a good amount of '04s, and maybe all those people in the Inland Empire just aren't looking for a new TL yet...

 

also if they have remodeled their showroom to fit the Acura "profile" and exterior they also get more cars

 

So many more? Wow, that's gotta piss the other dealers off to no end!

 

In the bay area, when I was buying the TSX, I noticed that Los Gatos Acura had more cars than other dealers. What's the difference? I checked it out, and all their cars were loaded to the max (NAV, custom wheels, etc). Los Gatos is a pretty well-to-do area, and so is Tustin. Maybe it takes them longer to move loaded cars, so their inventory seems higher?

 

Are they one of those dealers that adds the "additional dealer markup" stickers? I hate that.

 

Don't know. I never went there since I didn't want $2000 worth of wheel upgrades !! Are they made of gold or what !!!
