Allow an hour or so for us San Diego folk to get up there - AKA no 8 am curtain calls.

Maybe a pole on this?
I'm open on either weekend. Also, maybe we can setup at something like meet at a remote location near the convention center at 10am, then arrive at the ticket booths at 11am so we can take advantage of the discount coupons. The limitation of the discount coupon is that you can't use it on the weekends between 12 noon to 4pm.
I'm up for Either Sat. But I can not make it on a Sunday. Let me know when.
BTW-I will be short on funds too. So the cheapest option (parking and enterence fee)is good with me. If you have coupons save me one. Thanx!

If money is an issue, keep in mind that there is free parking on most the side streets downtown LA after 2:00 on Saturday, and all day on Sunday.

Also, you LA people:
Can you please stop by your Chevron dealer starting in December to stock up on the discount coupons for those of us not in the area?

Thanks!
As long as we go on a weekend, im good.
But, if were voting, i would tend to lean toward the 10th and 11th, but that's just my 2 cents.
also, as far as parking goes, is it safe? I dont want to walk out of the show to see my car has been messed with or dinged up, or scratch'd. This would just ruin the fun!

The wife and I will be on vacation the 1st week of Jan. So that weekend will be perfect for me. Don't know about the rest of you.
I would like to get a date finallized pretty quick so I can make plans.

Sat 3: 1 vote
Sat 10: 1 vote
I stand by the 10th - I really want to have some money available for food, gas, and parking and I don't see it coming in before then. If money was no issue I'd go the 3rd but since it is I have to vote the 10th
I suggest we meet about a mile away from the convention center, near the University of Southern California.
I'm going to talk to the university, and see if I can borrow a parking lot for the meet. But, there is also a big shopping center across the street that will be virtually empty on a Saturday. It has a few places to eat, but nothing fancy (Denny's, Subway, and the like).

How many miles is it from Raleigh, NC to USC?
Ok ... I checked Raleigh->LA ...
2590 miles ... 39 hrs ... I am pretty sure I can cut that to 36
But what's the fun ... I already did that route round trip TWICE in my '86 CRX Si
Did I mention that car made me a Honda fan?

Here are some bits of information that will help me find a parking lot to meet:
1) What do people want to do about food (is having fast food places nearby enough, or do you want me to find something better)?
2) How many people are going to make it?
3) What time?

1) I'm fine with fast food, but a restaurant is cool too. I figure with having to pay for tickets/gas/parking most people will be down to eat cheap.
3) On saturday the show opens 9am until 10:30 at night. EDIT: I agree with steve on not wanting an early wakeup. How about a 12 noon meet up?
2) I am definitely in. If you are going to attend please post.

2. I plan on being there.
As for the others...
3. I'm voting for early afternoon as I have a hour and a half drive and I'd prefer not to have to be up at 9 AM on a weekend. Let's say either 1:00 PM or 11:30 AM?
Are there any LA people working on getting us those discount passes from the LA area Chevron dealers? They may have a time restriction on them that would affect this.

There is a restriction on the coupon. The coupon cannot be used between 12 noon to 4pm Saturdays and Sundays. If you plan on using the coupons, make sure we arrive at the ticket booths before 12 noon or after 4pm. If it's the earlier one, plan on meeting at a place nearby at around 10am, start heading over to convention center at 10:30am. Traffic near convention center will be a nightmare during the weekend of the LA Auto Show. Imagine you're in line waiting to get into the parking structure (let's say about 500 feet), you could be stuck there for at least 20 minutes.
