SoCal Dealership Ratings?

Hi, I'm new to the community and looking to buy a 2006 TSX. I've received tons of quotes from dealers around the Southern California area, but the best came from Acura of Glendale, Power Acura South Bay in Torrance, Metro Acura in Montclair, and Thomas Acura in Covina. They all have the car I want (AT, gray on black, non-nav). I was wondering if this community had any opinions regarding the aforementioned dealerships. I did a search and found that some people had problems with Metro Acura, but that was two years ago. Thanks for your help, and I hope to really join the community soon.

south bay acura had the lowest quote for me, but it was so low i didn't believe them and decided not to waste a drive down there. If acura of glendale knows that you really want a car, they won't budge, and will try to sell the car to you for more than other dealers. You can't even send them quotes from other dealers...she'll just give a snob remark.

I ended up going to keyes acura in van nuys...the car salesperson saw me showing online quotes that i had printed out with the person who had gone with me, so he said he'd sell it for that price (which was lower than msrp by alot). Apparently they're one of the bigger dealerships, so they don't have to worry about what they sell their inventory at.

I think your combo should be popular, so you should be able to get a better deal

i got mine at keyes acura as well. at the time they were the only dealer in socal who had the tranny and color combo i wanted. they were a bit pushy though, altho we held our ground, and they messed up my steering wheel on a subsequent service visit, so haven't had the best experience with them. i would honestly just go with the dealer closest to you as long as they can match your lowest price. i just had my 30K service done at planet acura at downey and the guys there were great. they have a gray on black AT on the lot with the full aspec pkg that looks pretty sweet if you are interested in the aspec.

Good luck with your purchase. Be wary of Keyes Acura. Some of the guys there are total @$$e$.

If you feel like driving down to OC, I had a very pleasant experience at Tustin Acura and got a very good deal. No pressure at all. Good luck!

I bought mine from Power Acura, South Bay. They had the best price, and the internet manager whom I worked with was cool. I was in communication with Keyes, Santa Monica and Glendale. The Keyes saleguy was nice, but the internet guy there seemed shady to me. Also, they didn't have the color combo that I wanted when I was finally ready to pull the trigger. Glendale, like the other poster said, did not budge on her price. Never went down to Santa Monica. They sent me mixed messages, and I end up doubting they had the color combo I wanted. Didn't want to waste my time going there for nothing. BTW, I bought mine at the end of the month, and everyone seemed more willing to deal.

Thanks for the quick responses. I, too, felt the internet manager at Keyes was kind of shady. He was curt and just wanted me to get down there. No e-mailed quotes. "Just get down here, and I'll match it." On the otherhand, a lot of you were happy with their service. I may go up there this weekend; it's not too far from me (by LAX).

BTW, is it ok to post numbers that I've received from dealers? I'm curious to see how good my offers are.

I purchased mine from Thomas Acura in Covina a week ago. I had a great experience working with Ken. He was willing to offer me the quote over e-mail, break the pricing down by line item, and honor the price when I arrived at the dealership. I flew from Las Vegas to Ontario just to work with Thomas Acura. (of course I shopped around in SoCal too)

It's been years since my experience when I was purchasing my TSX. Keyes did give me one of the better deals, but it did seem like they wanted me to make the trip out there.

Covina is a good one as long as you can get an internet quote from them. I believe that South Bay will match quotes, as will Tustin if I'm not mistaken. But then again, this is from shopping 2 years ago, so the sales people and managers may have completely changed.

Best of luck to you!

I bought my 05 6MT non-Navi from Power Acura, South Bay. I had been searching the South LA and North OC Counties and they seemed to have the best price. After about 1 hour of discussion about the price, I was already signing the papers for my car. I haven't tried the other dealerships since I had already found a place that the price that I was looking for.

Acura of Santa Monica is a participating dealer with Cars Direct and they had sent me a quote for a couple hundred dollars over invoice price (last year around this same time)

I decided to purchase from Acura of Las Vegas because I could write off the sales tax. I have no idea how Santa Monica Acura would have handled the sale, but they seemed to be above board.

yes TUSTIN ACURA! best dealership ever. ask for Omar, awesome salesman. i bought a black 06 MT navi there for over 400 under invoice and he even hooked me up with wheel locks. they don't pressure you, stay open late, and give the BEST deals. no this is not a commercial. believe me, they won the precision team award 4 years in a row. go there, you will not regret it.

I requested a quote from Tustin just know. Let's see what they got. I will check out what Power, Thomas, and Glendale can do for me this weekend. They all offered around $25,200+TTL.

I bought mine there as well. Service SUX! I had fogs installed (I have a 2004). About a week later, I'm on the highway and pieces started flying off the bottom of the car! They had screwed up something under the bumper. Careless sloppy work that almost got me killed.

Recently, I've been having my service done at Glendale Acura, and they're great.

I can't say which has the better purchase experience, but I'll never even walk on the lot at Keyes Acura again.

I ended up buying from Thomas Acura in Covina today. Quick and painless. Thanks for all your input!

On a side note, the transmission on my truck died on the way to the dealership. I sent it via AAA to my dad's house and had my brother-in-law take me to dealer. I guess it was really time for me to buy the car. At least it didn't die while pulling into the lot. That would've been BAD.

I'd highly recommend West Covina Acura and if you dont want to be eaten by sharks, stay clear away from Tustin Acura. West Covina was willing to match any price and was very negotiable.

West Covina Acura is Thomas Acura, I think. My sales rep was Yvonne Villalobos, and I paid $25,720+TTL ($495 for alarm, bleh). No accessories, no nav. They were going to charge me $595 for the alarm and throw in a trunk tray, but I ended up taking the $100 instead of the tray.

I cant imagine why they were being dicks, it was towards the end of january when they need to stack up sales, but that experience sure kept me away from them along with my friends looking for Acuras.

As for service departments, I'd recommend South Coast Acura. They give out loaner cars without questions and vacuum the inside of my car when finished, that's always a plus

Sierra Acura in Alhambra gave me the best price. I thought Keyes Acura were a$$holes..with a stuck up attitude. They straight up told me that they don't care what other dealers quote, and that I should come down..cause haggling doesn't do anything.

Has anybody been to "Acura 101 West" in Calabasas, CA? Need to know if it's worth going down there to get a used TSX.

My car is making a squeaking noise on the right side of my car, does anyone know a socal dealership that doesn't care if you have coilovers on? I don't want my warrenty to be void.

Do not go to Cerritos Acura if you have aftermarket parts. My A-spec suspension was sqeaking so I asked them to look at it while getting my oil change. They saw my Comptech swaybar and the A-spec and wouldn't touch it. All they would say is that it seems to be on the left side.

Thomas Acura was really good. I called just about everyone in SoCal to locate an 06 in December, and Thomas Acura kept me updated and went out of there way to find me a Carbon Gray.

I had a killer experience with Acura Of Glendale, though I only looked at a handful of other acura dealerships, not as extensive as you have searched.

If you're seriously considering glendale PM me and I'll post my experience in buying my 06 navi

Lets face it, all dealerships are fucked. I couldn't sell cars for a living, you really have to have no soul to rip people off left and right. Just know what the cars worth and don't budge when they try all these fucked up tactics to get money out of you. Trying for invoice on a new Acura is a bit of a challenge, you really have to catch a desperate dealer or one that has some factory incentives. Try to get some kind of middle ground in between the invoice and msrp, but for the love of God don't let him get you over that MSRP. Don't take their extended warranties, get your own warranty. Don't purchase anything you could get yourself outside of the dealership for cheaper. A good idea is to walk in there with a loan from a bank so you don't have to haggle over APR and them bullshitting you about your credit. That's what I did.
