SoCal Dealers

Anyone found a good SoCal dealer? I'm in the Oceanside area but I have been looking from San Diego to Escondido to South Orange County. There are a few I am considering but none that excite me too much.

Any recommendations?

If you don't mind driving a little further from OC, I got mine from Downey Acura and was able to get about $1100 off MSRP for a 6MT with Navi without much of a fight. I just told them, This is what I can get and they said, "ok, I can do that too plus I have the car in stock." It was a no brainer. One of the sales managers, JD is his name, is totally cool. After work, he owns a local drifting speed shop that specializes in S13, S14, and S15 Silvias.

Give them a shot!

I believe most of the guys know me on here pretty well and I normally do not advert. myself or my dealer. But being you are local to us I have a CG/Ebony AT navi in stock today. Its my only one of this combo available for the month. If you are interested let me know.

I'm got mine at Hoehn in Carlsbad, from a certain someone who's a member on this forum ^

I didn't really wanna play hardball, because the car is worth the MSRP, but they gave me a good price for back then (May) with no hassle and threw in the usual accessories (wheel locks, trunk tray).

The service at Hoehn is top notch from what I've seen. And they got me the exact car I wanted very fast (11 days from deposit to delivery) because they do quite a bit of volume.

I began my search at Cush in Escondido. They were friendly, but didn't seem to have much selection, and I didn't feel like they were being completely honest with me (claimed they could call in a favor and get me my exact car in one day if I'd sign on the dotted line, but then suddenly tried to talk me out of it.) They did call back and offered a hell of a deal on the demo car, but I had already put a deposit on mine at Hoehn by that time.

Lots of dealers to choose from around here, so you shouldn't have too much trouble, in any case. Good luck.

Damned that was fast guys. Thanks.

Unfortunately I am financing through a 3rd party out of state that is dragging their heals on me all of a sudden.

But that does answer the question of where I saw that CG TSX on the flatbed going when it passed me on the 5 Fwy.

I'll keep you in mind and PM you when the funding issues are resolved.

Thanks again for the fast reply.

Hoehn seems to be the place to go then. 2 recommendations so far. LOL

I was dealing with a George from there but he seems way too excited to get me in the door with my $1,000 deposit to hold a car.

Anyway, thanks. Excellent recommendations that I will follow up on once my financing is straightened out.

Yeah I thought $1K was a bit steep on a car I was having to wait 3-45 days for. Besides, if for some strange reason I had to change my mind you can almost bet trying to get the $1K back would be a major headache. Thanks for the heads up.

I got a call about the mud guards, but I'm gonna pass on those. No word yet about the trunk tray -- sounds like it could be a while. I think I'd like to get the cargo net instead, especially if they're in stock. I know that'll require installation, but I wonder if I could make the substitution and call it even?

Well, I called Hoehn and asked for a Justin and they said they didn't know who he was. So I did try to throw him some business.

Anyway I went into Hoehn today and I am the proud owner of a Carbon Grey TSX w/Navi. I pick it up Wednesday!

So thanks to everyone who helped me on this journey. I'll get some pics up soon.

And yes, I did end up with a great salesman at Hoehn.

Looks like you called the wrong Hoehn store...we have a total of 7 in Carlsbad...and the one I don't work at is Honda. But Congrats on your TSX.

Yeah, that part was a mess. I just found one number on the Hoehn website and I guess that connects you to the Honda shop. I got transferred like 3x and finally someone at Honda decided to have pitty on me and help me.

Anyway, I did try to give you some business man. Thanks for the well wishes and sorry things didn't work out this time.

Hey no problem. Glad we were able to keep the business local. Welcome to the Hoehn-TSX family. Many on the forum have purchase their TSXs from us.

I spoke to Byron and I may be going over the car with you when your funds go through. Just let us know what we need to do to help.

That's funny...it was completely opposite for me. Thomas Acura didn't do it for me but Downey did. A+!

Agree with Twong1200. Downey Acura was great. Other than a couple of misunderstandings, it was a very positive experience. Plus I was able to get the CB without having to order. See related post.

I feel I should give a plug to Valencia Acura. Even though I did not purchase the car their (due to color unavailability), I thought their service and sales people were just great. Felt like I was being wined and dined even though we never got to the negotiation process. Maybe I would have been clubbed over the head at that point but we were hoping that would be a positive experience there as well. For once, I felt sorry about a dealership not getting my business. In any event, we had worked with a salesperson by the name of Aladin. Nice guy.

In the end though, Downey Acura did have my color choice with no wait and didn't have to order.

Hi Krissypoo-

I was there Friday night too picking up my Carbon Gray. Were you there towards closing? You might have been the lady in front of us waiting for the finance guy. I was the one with the two kids who thought they owned the place. What color did you get?

Hi fcajulis,

That was me! Small world. I got the Meteor Silver. I love the Carbon Gray though, but thought that, like black, the upkeep would require being a guy (obsessed with their car ) Are you enjoying your TSX? I've only been to work in it, but hopefully I'll take a long cruise this weekend up/down? the coast.

Stevens Creek Acura

I just wanted to plug Stevens Creek Acura for the great service and experience I had purchasing my NBP/6 speed/non-navi. Talk to the internet sales depatment, they are great. They know we discuss pricing online so you don't really have to haggle to much on the price. I did a bit but I was there on the 3rd of this month and it was only minimal. I managed to walk out of there satisfied at:
48 month lease
15,000 miles per year
$375 down
$375 month
2004 TSX / NBP/ 6speed / non-navi

I could have got it for $350 month if I would have haggled a lot more now that I think about it but that was the price I went in there set on. A good estimate is the Acura online lease calculator, they should be able to match pretty close.
I went to 4 other dealers in the Bay area and the other lowest price I got was:
$500 down
$385 month
On the same specs as above.

Question

nice to see that the so cal dealers are so nice and there is lots of people with tsx's in so cal. I personaly have only seen one tsx on the road here in santa barbara. But the closest dealer i think is like 40 minutes away in Ventura, then there is one further in calabases. Has anyone gotten a tsx there?

Other question was for Justinjsw. You work at an acura dealer i take it, i was wondering what your take on these rattles that everyone is having. There is a poll going on in the other thread and i think the non rattlers are lossing big time. I know that you personaly cant do much for everyone but i was wondering what you think acura is going to do if everyone keeps having the problems?
Chalk it up to the first year model?
Come out with a new front drivers side door mod?
Or just ignore it?

Not that its going to change me buying a tsx bc i want one regardless, but i am wondering what kind of service im going to get on my new 28k car.

Thanks for your input, oh and if you can recommend a dealer in this area anyone please do!

Very cool Krissypoo. Like you, I've really only driven it to work so far but that is less than 5 miles away. Last Sunday, we had nothing scheduled so I got up and said I'm taking a ride. First time I wanted to do that in LA. Needless to say, it was a short trip as I had nowhere to go but it was an enjoyable 15 minutes of cruising.

I was thinking a cruise up the coast would be a nice way to help break her in too. Next time I see a MS TSX, I'll be thinking "Hey, theres Krissypoo!". Enjoy your new ride.

Keylay, go to Hoehn Acura in Carlsbad and ask for Justin, he'll take care of you. The guy actually does what the say he'll do. The dealership is very professional, just don't buy the damn paint protection package!

Justin's the man

Justin, can I get the cargo net now?

I had some retard who talked like Jay Leno with bad teeth literally YELL AT ME on the phone because I was returning a call from their internet manager (didn't say what dealership) and he thought I was going behind his back. Then the internet manager accused me of fraud on my credit application because I refused to allow them to run my credit since they refused to take my credit union loan.

Thomas Acura was the shizzle... except for the manager who used more vaseline in his hair than gets used by all the inmates of Folsom Prison in a week. He busted my balls for awhile... but in the end I got what I wanted for the price I wanted.

The Carlsbad dealership refused to work with me when I was shopping for a dark gray TSX w/ NAVI at the Carlsbad dealership. I was offered $7,000 for my Jetta (KBB = $9,000 as trade-in) and they refused to negotiate on the price of the TSX. A nearby Subaru dealer offered $8,000 so it was clearly a matter of them trying to abuse me.

I left to check out the A4 and when I came back for another attempt at negotiating, the salesman I spoke with left 30 minutes earlier than what he told me. Sales manager said he would be happy to give $8,000 for my Jetta and negotiate down on a TL... His comment only made it obvious that they could offer more for my car.

I drove 30 mins south to CUSH Kearny Mesa, got $7,500 for my car and $1,000 OFF MSRP. I love my TSX w/ NAVI, and will never go to Carlsbad again.

Re: SoCal Dealers

Downey Acura is in the Lakewood Area in Los Angeles but I know the manager there told me he does long distance selling. Then he flatbeds the car to the persons home. He does most of his business that way. He also gives good deals and he upfront and staight out and does not go around the bush like many sales people

Interesting because when I went to Cush in Kerney Mesa the woman that was following me around seemed rather clueless about the vehicle, less than enthused to take my info when I asked her to let me know when a CG TSX came in, and generally seemed only mildly interested in me as a whole.

Whereas Hoehn at least had a sales rep that actually came up, greeted me, and answered all my questions.

I do have to say I was not overly impressed with how the deal went down at Hoehn. It could have gone better. It wasn't horrible but it could have gone better. I am still waiting on a supposed backordered trunk tray that was part of my protection package and have not heard one peep from the dealer since the car was delivered on 7-15. That is one hell of a backordered item. Also, I was refused a due bill by the dealer them telling me they would be in touch when the trunk trays came in. Why do I feel like I will never see this trunk tray in my lifetime?

I guess you live and you learn.

PS - Immediate follow up and follow up at the delivery were excellent. For that I have to give Hoehn props. Just about everyone at the dealership thanked me for buying a vehicle.

In defense of Justin and because I was not in on your particular deal I will only say that Justin went out of his way for me when I came in and due to a miscommunication demanded my car be delivered a day early. Justin had no problem in accomodating me into his schedule.

So far from what I have seen of Justin he seems personable and he certainly did a great delivery of a vehicle. For those two things I give him a congratulations.

Steve I will look into the matter for you personally. I thought they had already called you on the tray. Give you a call tomorrow.
