So - What was Your First Car?
Seeing the thread about what would be your next vehicle got me wondering about what you guys had as your FIRST vehicle -- especially the older guys. It seems like a good number of the younger guys in the group got their TSX as their first vehicle. If so, that's terrific!. As for me, the TSX is the first vehicle that I've ever had that I would consider as "luxury" or "upscale" (ie - leather seats, bluetooth, satellite radio, power memory seat, etc) -- and I'm 53 years old. So, it's taken me awhile to reach this level.
I'll start this off -- The first vehicle I ever owned was a 1975 Chevy Vega (Ugh!). It cost $2636 brand new (without TTL) - and that's not a typo. It wasn't worth even that much. LOL. It lasted about 2 years, when I got lucky enough to find someone to take it off my hands.
So - what about you guys?

1993 nissan stanza - leaky sunroof, radio/speakers blown, no a/c, only driver side window went down, and i had to add power steering fluid in it twice a week! but, like most first cars, that was my baby ... i prob took better care of it than my tsx

1990 Ford Taurus, haha that thing leaked every kind of fluid imaginable. Ran that thing into the ground and still sold it for $500. Not bad.
btw-I really want to know how 16-18 year olds afford tsx's...

1967 Cougar..1970 cuda
I go back to the days of real heavy metal....1967 cougar 289 four barrel automatic Turquoise with Black vinyl top, buckets.....first year produced, hidden headlites, I bought a demo with 5000 miles on it for 2317.00 out the door....
It had more metal in it by accident, than todays vehicles by design....got about 13 mpg
......followed that up with a 1970 Cuda 340.... new $3200 and change...it had 325 actual real HP..talk about a screamer....no matter how you drove it 9-10 mpg
Gas was about twenty nine cents for real premium 96 octane I believe, saw regular at seventeen point nine once... (1971)
Wish I had them today, worth bux....

I'm not an old guy, but my first car was a '78 Malibu. That thing was boat and stalled out all the time! But I sorta miss it...
Next I had a 1994 Geo Storm, then a 1998 Neon, and now my TSX.

My first car was a 1991 Pontiac LeMans Hatchback. A hand-me-down from my Dad my Senior year of high school (1997-1998). He bought it as a second car after he got back from Desert Storm...
A 4-spd manual that had maybe 80 horsepower. I drove the piss out of her. She was my Pimp Mobile

First car
My first car was a 1988 Acura Integra and I kept it for 10 years. Despite the sluggish AT, the car handled wonderfully. My parents still use it as a spare car. I replaced it with a 1998 Honda Prelude and have just acquired a TSX 2006 RBP w/5AT and navi 9 days ago.

This was my first car:
1988 Honda Accord 5-speed with absolutely no options but an AC that didn't work.
I loved it to death. Drove it 30000miles in less than 4 months!!!

A 1984 Pontiac POS (piece of $hit)
Just kidding, I had an '84 Pontiac Sunbird. Not really kidding, actually, it was the biggest POS. The sunroof leaked and it never started in the winter. I actually had to walk to work for a week after pushing it out of the way on a 6-lane highway where it died from a broken timing belt. Overall, it was a pretty cool looking car. That's about the best thing I can say about that.
By the way, I was 18 before I got my first car and it was $1500. I had to buy it with the money I got from HS graduation. This was 1995, by the way. It was already 11 years old.
When that finally became too unreliable, my dad gave me his '84 Chevy Cavalier hatchback. That was a bigger POS. But good for a big laugh now. It was a rust bucket and I had to use a stick to hold the hatchback up. I remember the song "I Wish" had just come out by Skee Lo. I wanted to put "I wish" on the license plate because there's a part of the song that goes:
"I wish I had a brand new car/so far I got this hatchback/ and everywhere I go, yo, I gets laughed it."
People literally used to point and laugh. It was really horrific.
Thank God for Honda. And thank GM for teaching me humility.

Mine was an 88 Accord DX coupe. It had 137,000 miles on it when I bought it and the tranny almost died a year and a half later when it had almost 160,000 miles and I donated it to charity!

My first car was my dad's 1976 Datsun 280-Z--I'd grown up riding in it, and he gave it to me when I turned 16. Damn, I still sometimes dream about that car. I've never driven anything since that's had anywhere near the road feel of that Z.
