Silver dash kit

After mucho consideration, I've decided to go with the silver in my new TSX. It was hard since I was coming off a parchment TL with full burlwood plood kit. I figured, hey, it was time for a change and it looks pretty damn cool. Not Robby the Robot-like as in other cars (G 35 anyone??)

MY QUESTION: Does anyone have a pic or a link to what the SILVER DASH KIT looks like. No one seems to have it. HELP!

It's doesn't seem like much ... Does it look like overkill in real life?

No, I think it's great... I like it much better then if I had just left it stock as the flat black.
just my opinion though...

I ultimately decided against it bc it was overkil IMHO, also $400 for some plastic that glues on seemed a bit much

I would have to see pics of it installed, to make sure it matches the rest of the brushed aluminum but that is tempting. I do think the door pieces would look nice ... not sure about all the rest

it looks best at night with the blue accent lighting reflecting off of it...that is really hard to show in a picture though...i thought of it this way...your already have it on part of the dash this kit just continues it...it looks like it belongs there on mine with the quartz interior...also you can get a better deal on it by just negotiating a lil bit...

I'm going to purchase the kit from edash and post pics, but that won't be until the end of Feb. But if there are any members that purchased a kit from another dealer please post pics provided with comments.

The color I is titanium. I think I read that in the brochure.

From Acura website:
"Titanium-finished console and door trim (Ebony and Quartz interiors)"

TSX69,
Do you have pics of the door panel metal trim? I'm thinking of getting a set, but not sure how those look.

Does anyone know where I can find the push button "This is not an ashtray" console (along with the push button cigarette lighter adapter) for an '05 Accord? I have an '04 the the kind that you have to pull open, and I want the push button type. I'm talking about the two little consoles that are below the center storage console below the navigation system.

yea i think the dash trim is a bit much.

i wish the silver trim was a lil nicer - it's so bland. they should have used brushed aluminum.

Very nice TSX69! Thanks for the quik reply.

Do you get the feeling that the car came with metal trim in those areas, and not put on over top of the existing pieces? Know what I mean?

Not sure what ur asking there CSPar ... as for the 127 pieces for $180, that at least seems like a decent deal. I would not feel as bad for not using all of the pieces.

However, the pic above does not look like it would match the metal thats already there or are we supposed to cover that up too w/ the new pieces?

Sorry, I mean that when you touch or look at it, you get the feeling that the car was supposed to have this already on it, as if this was the only way it came in. You know, not with the ebony color, but metal color. I just want to be sure it'll look factory, and not rigged up.

Metal Kit

I have the metal kit installed on my TSX with Ebony interior. It looks awesome and completes "the look" of the TSX interior. Also, the sun reflection is not a concern as most of the plates are so low, sunlight doesn't really reach down that far. I showed it to one of my friends who is also a car-buff and he liked it too. I didn't really pay for it as it was included in my purchasing negotiation.

When people ask to see my car (since it's new) one of the first things they all say is, I like this, when they are touching the silver trim on the inside. I like it myself!

I was acutually thinkng of getting a carbon fiber dash kit to cover it up just to change it because I thought all TSX's had silver. I guess I will keep it

i thought about getting the trim kit as well. i have a satin silver tsx like yours, but i didnt think it would look right.

if i had a black or blue car i think it'd be cool for the contrast more. does look cool though on the inside.

In Canada it is called: Metal Look Trim Kit, costs $479.25

"Connect to the sporty and stylish interior of your TSX even more with the addition of a Metal Look Trim Kit. Available on black interior models only"

I like the look of it, and would go "oooww aaaahhhh" if I saw it in person. The almost $500 would be an inhibitor to getting it though.

Looks great though, certainly changes the look of the inside, but I do like the stock inside as well.

Excited

Yea, I need to revive this thread, but is the shape of the shifter-hole in the MT the same as in the AT? In other words, are there different kits for the AT vs. the MT?

In case it wasn't clear, IIRC the oem kit is installed ON TOP of the existing dash, and up close, IT SHOWS. (Pics in another thread illustrated this.) I wouldn't do this unless with an aftermarket kit that actually replaces the dash components.

BTW, look again at the piece around the shifter -- it doesn't wrap around all the way. It leaves an inexplicable blank spot. Talk about cheesy.
