Are the side mirrors on the TSX retractable?

I keep noticing that on my TSX ('05), the side mirrors seem like they are mounted on a base pivoting system ... the pivot base looks black while the mirror shell is the color of our car...

when i loook underneath the side mirrors...i see a circular bolt or cover.... while looking at the rest of the design, it seems as if the mirrors can pivot (and turn inward towards the car in case of damage during parking????)

i tried to force the mirror to pivot....but seemed like it didn't budge..... and i didn't want to break it....

so.... are teh side mirrors really pivotable? how do you pivot it.

They sure are. Just push them. They go both front and back...

Is there a way (a mod) to make them come in/out electronically?

Anyone did that?

Are the JDM/Euro ones auto folding? I hear this is standard on some cars in the rest of the world.

I would love to have that for my tight garage.

Edit: My Q was answered above.^^

Here are two pics of the mirrors retracted which I mistakenly first posted on the wrong thread.

My Uncle's 2004 Mercedes-Benz S500 4-Matic has electronic retractable mirrors. When you remove the key from the ignition, the mirrors would fold in automatically.

Probably but the thing is I SHOW MY CAR. You cant win shows if you inport a car. The car has to be from the US and you have to do a conversion on it.

Not to question how one washes their car, but wouldn't that hide the front of the mirror housing which would have the most bug and dirt residue? I would suspect that your mirrors would get washed in the normal position.

But what do I know.

see, you just gotta be good at telling them that you conversion is so perfect, that it looks exactly like as if you imported! hahahaha. i'm just messin with you know. but i still think you're slightly crazy!

it's all good. my cousin shows cars, but he has a 93 mustang cobra and a pontiac gto. not sure on the year of the gto....something in the 70's.

to me, those are cars i'd want to work on and show. new cars just dont have the same appeal to me in that respect. but....to each his own. i respect your hobby either way!

I find that the mirror never gets washed and dried properly if it's folded in. I sacrifice the ouside part to get the inside part cleaned better

on the 2006 euro accord the automatic retracting windows are available, don't know if it is an option or standard. More and more cars have it standard over here in europe, even the simpliest models of peugeot
