I was driving the other day and my side airbag light came on for like a few seconds. It went off though. Has that happened to anyone?

 

happened to me one day. than hasn't happened since.

 

its happened to be several times.. just comes on and turns right off after a few seconds right?

i think it may be that someone is leaning on the door.. not 100% sure tho.

 

it hasnt happened to my car..but it has happened to my mom's rsx...it only happens when somebody is leaning on it.

 

One day my wife was in the passenger seat and leaned forward to pick up something off the floor. The side airbag light turned on till she leaned back.

 

There is a sensor in the seat that turns the side airbag off if the occupant is out of position - and the light comes on. No problem it is functioning fine

 

If you are refering to the "SIDE AIRBAG OFF" light. It explains why it comes on, on page 50 of your owners maual.

 

it happens because somebody is out of position in the seat. there is an airbag inthe side of the seat, that when deployed blows up in like a nanosecond, when somebody is leaning on the area of the airbag it turns itself off, it does this because if you are in an accident, and the airbag deploys while someones body is directly up against it...its gonna f*** you up.

 

same here except its when my friends have been leaning out the window for atm machines.
