I've had my TSX for a little over a month, but now I regret not getting a TL for a few thousands more. It has more power that TSX needs and has a more comfortable ride. (I don't care much for sportiness) The only thing that TL lacks is AWD, but I can live with that. Has anyone made this upgrade or thinking about it?

Deal with your buyer's remorse or spend several thousand more and then some with your depreciation.

Your statement in bold says it all. Get the TL -- you won't be dissapointed.

However, you better act fast if you want an '06. If you're lucky, you could get a non-Navi TL for under 30k.

I didn't test drive the TL before I got TSX, but now that I have... on the bright side I might retire TSX to my wife in a year

People have their own preferences and expectations. For me, the TL is a downgrade...I prefer the handling over raw power. It doesn't help me to have power when I'm in rush hour traffic constantly, or from red light to red light in city traffic. When I want to have fun, I just need to go find a twisty road.

I'd upgrade to a g35 if I wanted a coupe (sedan looks so ugly to me)

I could've purchased either when I was shopping around, but I went with the TSX. It had all the "standard" options that the TL had, and handled like a compact. I really felt like I was driving around in a boat when I test drove the TL. I also don't particularly like the looks of the TL --- but of course, that's very subjective. Yes, the TL has more power... but it's still putting it to the front wheels. Out of the Acura family, I'd rather drop the money on an RL... if only it had 6MT.

Personally, I don't really know what else you'd be gaining from going to the TL outside of some extra power. I'd go outside the Acura family if you want something substantially different.

Funny, I found the TL to have a slightly less comfortable ride than the TSX (my husband too). Only slightly, but we were both paying attention to this carefully, as I came from Toyotas and was trading in my 06 Civic for a car with, among other things, a more comfortable ride.

I was really disappointed in the TL's handling after test driving the TSX.

However, klas, you have to go with what you like. Making a mistake is no big deal. I made one when I bought the 06 Civic on impulse.

However, I researched a lot, test drove, and took my time before deciding on a replacement for the Civic. Didn't want to make a mistake twice. Ever heard of the expression, "Once is normal, the same mistake twice is a learning disability." haha!

Do it, its hard as hell making payments on something you dont really want. I've been there I had a Mazda6 and took a bath and went for an Accord. It was well worth it for me, I just has a god awful time writing a check to Mazda.

I traded in a 2005 TL for my 2006 TSX... best automotive decision I ever made. Fit and finish, quality of materials, etc. is much better in the TSX. Go look on the TL boards and read about dash fade, wrinkled leather, the rattles, etc.

Klas, you have been un-happy with your TSX almost since the day you brought it home. So yes, I think you should go for something else, there is nothing worse that driving & making payments on something you don't like.

However, if you think the TL is an upgrade, you are mistaken. Plus SoCaliTrojan said it best, what good is all that extra power? You live in the same part of the state that I do (Can you say GRID-LOCK).

Do what you want, but I think you will take a bath on the trade. What is it you don't like on the TSX? It is a damn awesome car and it has plenty of power. Maybe you should be looking at pontiac's or buicks?

haha, one of my friends already recommended me buick. (ironically, I owned one 7 years ago) However, I am not looking to get rid of the car right away. It will be fine for now I was just curious if anyone else had that experience getting TSX only to find later they wanted something like a TL.

Unfortunately, I didn't even consider TL because I thought it was a lot more expensive and too big. The cars I test drove prior to getting TSX were Mazda3, Mazda6 and Camry of course none of them could compare to TSX and there weren't many other choices.

Hell no, don't upgrade to a TL.

Check out the new 2nd gen G35 instead or BMW 328, not the 335 unless you want to pay in the mid $40K's. I don't know where you lilve, but if you live in the snow I would get
G35x (AWD) or the 328xi (AWD). I saw numerous TL's that were sliding and driving slow in the snow yesterday because it's FWD. While I saw 2 G35x's driving normally and a 325xi having not too many problems in the snow.

I'm just amazed you can't give it more than a month to figure out if this is the car for you. A month? It usually takes me 3-6 months before I really get connected with a car. Four weeks is nothing.

Like others have said, you'll get killed on a trade. Just drive the car. The TSX has many virtues.

I feel that the TSX is a superior car in many respects to the TL. I drove the current generation. I previously had a "99TL and an '01 CL S. Nice cars, great off-the-line power but both had boat-like handling. The OP said he didn't care about "sportiness" so maybe the TL would be a better choice. The TSX handles very car well for its size and itjust seems to be put together better. Honda's four- bangers are the best in the business. It takes a bit more work to drive the TSX well, but the rewards are certainly there. And as others have pointed out, if you trade the TSX for a TSX one year apart, you're going to take a bath and a half!

Yup, everyone said it... you're going to get nailed on the trade in.

However, are you sure that the TL is the car for you? I test drove it and didn't like the handling and fit/finish as much as the TSX's... we all have different tastes, and that's why I can't tell you whether to make the move or not.

The one thing I can tell you is that, if you are disappointed by the car to that extent, make a move, even if it means getting a 2-year old model so you don't get totally killed on the trade. I can't think of anything worse than looking at your car everyday and wishing for something else; especially as the payments go through your account...

I would like to say my 06 TL has been perfect. No finish problems, seats are nice with no leather issues, or rattles. Quality seems the same in both cars.

The G35 has a more harsh ride than the TSX. It is not a Luxury car but more of a Sports car.

That's what I was saying -- he even said he didn't care much for the sportiness. As far as comparing fit/finish with a G35, there's really no comparison -- the G35 feels like an Altima with leather to me.

To the original poster: Since power was your main drawback and it looks like you'll take over a $5000 depreciation hit, did you consider just getting a supercharger?

Like you, I was dissapointed with the lack on punch at the high RPM with a stock TSX. Now that I have it modded, I can't think of a better car for me under $40k.

I had two G35s 04 and 05, and checked the 07 and wasn't interested in it after I saw the redesigned interior but the quality still wasn't as good as my TL. Lots of hard plastic on the doors, console, etc just didn't feel right. Seats also don't feel that great.

That was true of the 2002-2006 MY G35. The interior was absolute crap. Did you check out the '07? Much improved over the previous model, although I would still consider it a notch down from the TSX.

for a few people yes, but not for me.. the new G is definitely look better than the TL inside out..
I agree the previous G interior is a crap, but the 07 is very nice..
the new G ride quality is far from harsh, its not stiff either, it has a perfect balance and its RWD.. thats a big plus..
sorry but its just doesnt seem right to pick TL instead of g35 for an upgrade..
