I am due for a 30K mile service. I called around 4 different dealers and got prices of 210, 250, 450, and 550. Why are these so radically different? Don't all dealers do the service that is recommended by the manual?

 

i would call back and specifically tell them what you want done (i.e. from the manual). They are probably throwing in some extras ($$$).

 

dont follow manuel. the service item in there are stupid.. for cost saving, but not saving your car... i would get oil change, transmission oil change, air filter replacement. tire rotation, fluid top off, these are the must done if you love your car. THen just have them inspect chasis and lube. the usual stuff. By the way.. get SYNTHETIC OIL!

 

anyone have any opinions on the maintenance chart in the tsx repair manual? There's a maintenance track for 'severe' conditions (which is like driving in stop n go, trafficy conditions) then 'normal' conditions which is like driving in an area without pollution and stop n go driving.

 

i always follow severe and do more, Correct me if im wrong. severe want you to change tranny oil every 30 or 60k miles? im not sure which one but still sounsd outrageous to me. i change my tranny oil every 15K, and air filter every 15k. it doesnt cost all that much, but guarantee your car in top notch shape....especially i stuck in traffic to downtown LA and traffic back everyday. murderous to machinary

 

I just had a 30k miles service done to my car. The cheapest I found was Metro Acura for $280. I love my car and I do baby it. Some dealer ask for as high as $500 for this service. I wouldn't do this tyoe of service if my warranty is out. My 2 cent
